Am 24. November 2014 veröffentlichte der Musikproduzent UNFUG seine EP “Der Taucher”. Die Kollektion des aus Bargteheide (Schleswig-Holstein) stammenden DJs erschien auf dem Label Plus Plus Records, das im US-amerikanischen Philadelphia sitzt. Wir sprachen mit ihm über die Ursprünge der EP, die Remixe und über den Titelsong – den er bei uns als kostenlosen Download bereitstellt.

trndmsk: Wo hast Du Dir die Inspiration zu den vier Tracks hergeholt?
 
UNFUG: Die Ideen bzw. Ursprünge der Tracks waren ganz unterschiedlich. Dreh- und Angelpunkt ist natürlich der Titeltrack, “Der Taucher”, bei dem ich viel mit einem alten Orgelsound rumgespielt habe, bis am Ende die Nummer, so wie sie jetzt ist, dabei herauskam. Ich fand dann den Namen “Der Taucher” ziemlich passend zum dunklen und tiefen Sound, und die Idee diesen Track mit weiteren Sounds und Namen aus dem maritimen Spektrum zu erweitern, gefiel mir! Known for their outstanding My Tech House and My Deep House compilations, the aficionados at Push bring their curatorial talents to bear on the realm of Progressive House with an anthology that delivers a diversity of sounds in addition to the hallmarks that have made the genre such a peak-time favourite.

Two exclusive tracks set the tone - the stripped-down Haze-M Remix of Phonique's deep house classic 'Feel What You Want' and Oliver Lan's rework of the most seminal trance track of them all, 1993's 'Cafe Del Mar'. Big-name veterans and rising stars jostle for attention. Olivier Giacomotto - head honcho of Definitive Recordings - delivers the bass-driven, spring-loaded 'Dawn', while Joeski brings 25 years experience to the swirling, acidic monster jam 'XXX Part 2'.

Elsewhere, there's a stunning range of textures and vibes. Saccao & Shake Sofa and Cosme Martin & Christian Vila contribute a Brazilian-tinged featherlight groove and a full-on carnival explosion respectively. The brothers from Halle, Monkey Safari, cushion Bon Iver-like vocals on a bed of sustained pads and rich harmonic layers. Marseille's N‘to demonstrates a talent for sinuous synth melody on two contributions, 'Plein Ciel' and 'Petite'. Sascha Kloeber brings his own vocal flourishes to a hypnotic deep house jack; PAX
throw in chugging synth riffs; Beckers sprinkles his groove with tasty UK-garage inflections. And Worakls and Joachim Pastor both explore tuned woodblocks and idiosyncratic chimes on a textbook foundation of builds and drops.

Contributions hail from every corner of the globe. Switzerland's Khainz serves up ‚Ice‘ for the darkest and dirtiest of dancefloors; a Norway-Czech-Australia axis delivers the soulful vocals and bass undulations of 'Madness'. Last up, Muzzaik's 'Gravy' hits you with a giant Hungarian kick before winding you up into frenzied ecstasy, more than a match for Emil Berliner's dancefloor bomb 'What's Love'.

It kicks in in form of the “Tunes Vol. 1” EP which contains tracks of the label boss Sascha Braemer, produced in a collaboration with his WHATIPLAY fellows Marian Herzog (“Hoes Feat. Pete Josef”) and Alexander Remus (“Detention”). “Tunes Vol. 1” is completed by the track “Paragon” of the Muscotive producer Igor Bartyuk, who makes his first appearance on WHATIPLAY. Tune in!

Mit der “Tunes Vol. 1”-EP startet das Berliner Label WHATIPLAY eine neue Serie von EP’s unter dem Slogan “Tunes”, auf denen verschiedene Künstler bislang unreleaste neue Tracks vorstellen.
Die “Tunes Vol.1”-EP beinhaltet Tracks von Labelchef Sascha Braemer, die gemeinsam mit seinen  WHATIPLAY-Kollegen Marian Herzog (“Hoes Feat.
