Pipedreams was composed by Elliot Sokolov for the late NY Philharmonic organist Leonard Raver, who recorded it on a 1986 CD, "Contemporary American Organ Music." 
This release was recorded  in 2024 by Randall Harlow and Ann Bradfield at the University of Northern Iowa's Jebe Hall on the Op.43 Helmuth Wolff organ.

It Is Necessary (aria for tenor)

Written and Produced by Elliot Sokolov & Jack Waldman a.k.a. Air Force 1.  This is side A from the original 12 inch single on Streetwise Records, released in 1984.  Re-released on the CD compilations "80's Underground Club Hits" in 2006, and "Essential House" in 2007. A college/alternative radio and club favorite for years after it's release, "See the Light / Feel the Heat" was written and produced by Elliot Sokolov & Jack Waldman a.k.a. Air Force 1, mixed by Arthur Baker, and edited by the Latin Rascals.  It was one of the first records ever to featue an entirely sampled vocal, by President Ronald Reagan.

Pipedreams - third movement

Elliot Sokolov is a composer and producer whose work spans the worlds of concert music, electronica, dance, theater, and film and television scores. He is probably best known for his work on Sesame Street, where he scored more than one hundred animations created by renowned animator Al Jarnow.  Perhaps his most widely performed concert piece is "Pipedreams for Organ and Alto Saxophone," which was originally recorded by the late N.Y. Philharmonic organist Leonard Raver and has been performed throughout the US and Europe. Elliot Sokolov holds a Master’s degree in composition from Columbia University, and has received a Composer Fellowship from the US National Endowment for the Arts. He has collaborated on several musicals and an opera, and has composed numerous scores for national television advertising.
Elliot has also had extensive experience as composer, producer and musician in popular music. Elliot’s record See the Light Feel the Heat (a collaboration with Jack Waldman, as Air Force 1) was released on Streetwise Records; He was a member of the BMI Musical Theater Workshop in NYC for many years and has composed several musicals; He played guitar in Eartha Kitt’s touring band; He was part of the original band for the first off-off Broadway production of the musical Little Shop of Horrors, playing bass in the four-piece band; He was a composer, co-producer, and musician in the original Ray Contreras Band.
