Returning to Purified Records, Russian duo Garlington present their evocative ‘Chasing The Moment’ EP. Opening with ‘Remorse’, they set a reflective mood with emotive melodies and a subtly grooving rhythm, building a rich sense of depth and atmosphere. ‘Weightless’ follows with a lighter touch - blending crisp percussion, airy textures, and luminous piano chords into an elegant indie dance moment. Closing the EP, the title track ‘Chasing The Moment’ delivers a dreamlike journey through flowing synth lines and immersive soundscapes, striking a perfect balance between serenity and drive. A showcase of Garlington’s evolving sonic identity, this three-track release reinforces their place as a distinctive voice on the label.

Taken by Rachel Moore, the ‘Chasing The Moment’ EP artwork features waves crashing on a barrier reef on the island of Mo’orea, French Polynesia. Rachel is a professional underwater photographer and environmental advocate dedicated to capturing the wonders of marine life. With a special focus on the grace and intelligence of humpback whales, her storytelling inspires a deeper connection to the ocean and a commitment to its preservation.

French Polynesia is home to one of the world’s largest and most remote marine protected areas. Pew Bertarelli Ocean Legacy (https://www.pew-bertarelli-ocean-legacy.org/en) has been instrumental in supporting this achievement, partnering with local communities and governments to establish and manage large-scale ocean sanctuaries.

‘Fragments XXXII’ offers a cohesive listening experience defined by organic textures, emotive melodies and a gentle yet persistent energy - perfect for those seeking music that nurtures the soul while keeping the pulse alive.

Taken by Juan Mora, the ‘Fragments XXXII’ artwork shows a Humpback Whale (Megaptera Novaeangliae) swimming in the Pacific Ocean, Mexico. A Colombian biologist, UW photographer, and expedition leader, Juan has dedicated his life and work to ocean advocacy. His camera serves as a powerful tool to share his passion and highlight the importance of protecting our planet.

Each winter, thousands of humpback whales return to the warm, sheltered bays of Mexico’s Pacific coast. Safeguarding these waters is the mission of EcoBac (@ecologiayconservacionballenas), which coordinates RABEN - a first-of-its-kind national network of trained professionals and volunteers stationed along key points of the coastline, ready to respond when whales become entangled in fishing gear.
