When you're talking about techno, few names have been innovating and evolving as much as Robert Hood. When he's not running things over at M-Plant, he can be found touring the festival circuit with his live show and releasing tonnes of fresh new material.

Today we concentrate on his more melodic alias and under the name Floorplan, Hood has released a stunning album showcasing a slightly different yet equally strong sound.

A new EP is set to drop featuring two re-edits of tracks that appeared on his Floorplan album 'Paradise'. 'Phobia' and 'Never Grow Old' have been given a special Re-Plant and we have the premiere of the latter.

The first Secluded release of 2017 comes in the shape of two pumping new Secluded jams. 'Beyond Thunder' & 'Witness' are both typical peak time Secluded bangers. This impressive package also features quality remixes by Roberto & Bleak. Roberto is a techno artist from London, who has been releasing great music on the likes of Fachwerk, Arts, Affin and his own imprint Fossil Archive. Bleak is well known for his slick productions, bringing a deep hypnotic style. This Swedish producer, has released a string of successful EP's for Delsin, Deeply Rooted House and more recently his own label Naura Records. It's a pleasure to have both of these guys on board for this release!

Branko, a newcomer from Norrköping on the east coast of Sweden, presents „Kao Staklo“. Having previously featured tracks on the critically acclaimed „A beginners guide to Norrköping Techno“ , a release curated by his fellow countryman Nihad Tule and Inter Gritty aka NTTA11; the young Swede takes center stage with his UИCAGΞ debut.

Top and tailing the EP with his two originals Branko opens with „Oprosti“. A melodic number featuring a floating chord over a sharp beat. This is followed by the first of two remixes of „Kao Staklo“. Darren Roberts aka Deepbass rolls out one of his trademark reworks with a deep and trippy seven-minute opus.

The B side opens with Swedish mastermind Skudge who delivered a groovy and psychedelic minimal remix of „Kao Staklo“, before we´re finally introduced to the original title track with its misty atmospheres and melancholic grooves. A rock solid first release.

The seventh volume of Roberto’s Fossil Archive imprint, a UK label synonymous with quality over quantity is set for release this autumn.

As we move into the tail end of 2017 we look back on another busy year for Roberto and the label.  Key highlights have been playing alongside Regis and Kobosil at fabric in January, the Fossil Archive “Label Mates” feature on B.Trait’s BBC Radio 1 show in February, the release of FAUK006 in March; a collaborative effort alongside Fachwerk’s Roman Lindau, a host of DJ gigs through the summer with particular mentions for Roberto’s closing set on the Forest Stage after Boddika at One Tribe Festival in August and most recently his triumphant return to Tresor, Berlin just a couple of weeks ago.

Moving on, the new release features two more tight cuts from Roberto himself with the bass-rumbling, metallic ‘Pecten’ on the A-side and the directional, driving ‘Gibbus’ on the B-side.  Which also means that audiophiles will be pleased to hear that Roberto has put sound quality at the forefront once again, with one 45rpm track per side so the vinyl is cut to its highest potential.

New York’s P.Leone debuts on Rekids Special Projects with four vinyl-only techno cuts this February.

Debuting on Spencer Parker’s Work Them Records in 2016, P.Leone has since launched his own imprint entitled E-Missions alongside label partner Caiazzo. Moving to Berlin last year, the American producer has quickly earned himself a name within the German capital, making regular appearances at the likes of Tresor and ://about blank, and now joining respected Berlin-based label Rekids as part of their vinyl-only series.

Metallic echoes, robust kicks and breakbeat percussion lay the foundation for ‘Rose Petal Breaks’, before ‘Noon Service’ demonstrates crystalline synths and futuristic effects. On the flip, thudding drums and energetic claps form ‘Hold Me Down’ until the ominous ‘Sometimes I Feel Strong’ concludes the package with rattling components and a cacophony of intricacies.

American producer Dustin Zahn readies the next release on Rekids Special Projects this April with four vigorous cuts entitled ‘Take The Throne’. 

Dustin Zahn has been flying the techno flag for two decades, releasing on labels like Rekids when not helming the Berlin-based Enemy Records, a label which has released music from artists like fellow US techno stalwart Ambivalent, ARTS boss Emmanuel, and Innervisions' producer Yotam Avni. Zahn is also respected for Train Wrecks, his weekly podcast series inviting members of the house and techno community to discuss a wide variety of music and industry related topics and stories. 

The release opens with the thumping kicks and sci-fi melodies of ‘Take The Throne’ before rolling into the dubby tones, infectious claps and rattling white noise of ‘Decorum’. The atmospheric ‘Nameless Midnight’ then follows, packed with echoing synths, tantalising effects and a twisted vocal sample that weaves throughout, arriving at the final track ‘Subtle Flex’ where escalating synths meet syncopated percussion.

Matt Edwards and multifaceted artist Patrick Mason team up as SRVD with debut release entitled ‘ELEVATE’ dropping on Rekids this August. 

Whether as Radio Slave or his various other monikers, Matt Edwards is one of electronic music’s most consistent and innovative artists. Ever since his early reinterpretations of Kylie Minogue and New Order, Edwards has continually commanded respect as a producer and in-demand remixer, whilst as a label owner his Rekids imprint is undoubtedly one of house and techno’s most influential platforms. 

Meanwhile, Patrick Mason continues to conquer the fashion world; a devout club kid and gifted creative turning heads as an outstanding art director, illustrator and model, whose extensive artistic talents include a unique and compelling voice destined for dancefloors. 

SRVD’s story begins when the pair met in Panorama Bar, which soon led to Edwards and Mason hanging out at the studio and later evolved into improvised performances in Berlin’s club scene and beyond. ‘ELEVATE’ perfectly captures the raw spirit and vibe of their live show, with whispering vocals ushering in precision kicks and piercing stabs until Mason’s mesmerising voice comes fully into play. 

An homage to the New York vogue scene and a huge hit at Panorama Bar - where the pair have set the house on fire with three unannounced shows so far this year - ‘NASTY’ is a syncopated, bass-driven monster of a cut complete with infectious claps and metallic effects.
