Rexus presents Ubuntu, an Afro Tech EP that delves into the rich tapestry of African rhythms and electronic soundscapes. The title, "Ubuntu," is derived from a Nguni Bantu term meaning "humanity towards others," reflecting the interconnectedness of all people. This philosophy is often encapsulated in the phrase, "I am because we are," emphasising communal bonds and shared humanity.

The EP's title track embodies this concept through deep, pulsating basslines and tribal rhythms, creating an immersive experience that resonates with the unity and energy of late-night dance floors. Complementing this are tracks that explore melodic and atmospheric elements, balancing intensity with soulful expression. Inspired by the storytelling nature of Afro rhythms, Ubuntu is crafted to engage both the body and the mind, inviting listeners to connect with the music and each other on a profound level.

bio:
after playing the bass guitar in a band for years, the 21-year-old ellis moved into electronic music back in 2016 for the purpose of creating and writing his own music and songs. the london based producer and musician grew to learn how to play the decks next to his bass guitar. 

"ellis quickly made a name for himself within the wider electronic house scene, with steady releases like ‘clear my head’ and his viral remix of ed sheeran’s ‘shape of you’ stacking over 70 million total views on youtube today. the young producer and musician is working hard to share his music across the global electronic scene putting forth one strong production after another characterized by catchy toplines, engaging basslines and funky drops. with official remixes for the likes of lost frequencies, james blunt, zedd & katy perry, notd and most recent his official remix of lady gaga’s – stupid love, ellis puts forward only the best of the best in electronic music. playing across europe at stages like the o2 academy in leeds, to amsterdam dance event in the netherlands, the artist has been steadily growing his live presence. 

influences by music from early 2000’s such as zero 7 to modern day influences like madeon combined with an increase in studio sessions & productions with and for songwriters and musicians across europe resulted in a new emphasis on funk, musicality and indie influences in his sound. ellis released his debut ep 'recollection perspective' in 2020.

Producer and DJ mostly Progressive & Uplifting Trance, but also of other genres like Progressive House, Dance, EDM. There is no particular genre you can hear in this productions, since we try to blend every bit of any modern genre currently existing into masterpiece.
