The word mapeka can be interpreted all kinds of ways
Like all Kinshasa slang
It’s the stance of someone showing off
The strut of a big ego

In this song it’s the arrogance of evil politicians
Mocking their audacity
With a raucous kind of chorus calling out ‘mapeka ya politicians’

And in typical Kinshasa style, band leader Matondo shouts out the instrumentalists as they begin playing pure fire start to finish.
