Monkey Safari proudly unveil their new album ‘Love Will Set U Free’, their fourth full length project and their most definitive work so far. Over the past year the German duo have been utilizing the forced downtime to immerse themselves in making music. In such strange times their creative process shifted, taking them down new avenues as they channeled their combined experience and broad backgrounds into the new LP. Unable to road test their music, as they normally would, Lars and Sven initially approached the album with slight worry - unable to tap into that seemingly crucial audience to artist feedback loop. However, in the end, it helped to liberate them resulting in a project that embodies the Monkey Safari sound in its purest form.

Across 10 tracks they explore a range of styles, while keeping true to their own distinct audio identity. There are forays into deep house and garage, the Chicago roots, breakbeat and hints of pop, too all through the lens of the nineties era. 

At the core of Love Will Set U Free is a simple, but powerful, message; in a time when conflict is rife on our planet, love can unite us and rejuvenate our divided world. Music has the power to create positive change, on an individual and societal level, we just have to harness that power, be ready to embrace the love within and let it set us free.

Vhyce returns to Pets with more of his beautiful signature cosmic disco and his timing is exquisite. Making his debut on Catz & Dogz label earlier this year with 'One Day We'll Float', the release landed just at the right time as we all plummeted into a bleak new year.

Now as summer begins to open up again, and things look a little brighter, he returns with equally precision-timed sounds. With its sultry bassline and big romantic pads, 'Monde Réel' hits with a big dose of hope. Translating to 'real world', this is a homage to the future. And that positivity remains on 'Insieme'. This time translating to 'together', it's another moment of unity as Vhyce takes us up and down the scale in classic Q&A arpeggiated style. Soft, gentle but emotionally soaring; you can almost feel the hugs as the woozy synths roll out.

Always one for balance, Vhyce includes the much tenser and introspective 'Subdued' for those darker moments when unity and togetherness seemed so far away. Then Catz N Dogz close the show themselves with a startlingly bright and dreamy take on 'Monde Réel'. Hopeful, fun, wholesome feel-good electronic music. Because Vhyce makes it so damned well. And because we all deserve to float again.

Oliver Schories is returning to 8Bit Records after a year -  with the Monza EP. 

Hamburg-based Oliver has been a welcome addition to the Germany house community for more than a decade now. After his latest album, Paradigm, and a collaboration with Jan Blomqvist in the summer of 2020, new original music will be out in January 2021 on Gorge’s and Nick Curly’s 8 Bit imprint.

Opening with the title track, ‘Monza’, a stab-led groove evolves organically adding nuanced layers and a rubbery bass. Warm and inviting, the piano in the first break creates a welcomed tension against the muted vocal ad libs. On the flipside, ‘Levo’ begins with more low end grunt. Melodics develop with time and form the main groove hypnotising the listener before chord sweeps and whispered vocals add warmth and musical depth.
