Sous Music come again with another summer smash from Anja Schneider’s secret stash of techno bombs. This time it is Reform who serve up their second release on the Berlin label, following up the memorable Nightcall EP from summer 2020.   

Since last summer, Reform have continued to established themselves as one of the 'ones to watch' amongst the new breed of techno producers. Originally signed to fellow Italian Luca Agnelli's Etruria Beat Records in 2015 the pair have gone on to have a series of successful releases for some of the most popular labels in techno, including two EP’s for Pan Pot's Second State, attracting remixes from Amelie Lens, Nikola Gala and Marco Effe along the way.

You can hear the very high production quality and they are now developing their own niche within this modern techno sound. Le Monkey arrives to the LAMP Family and PUZL Records from deep space filled with sonic vibrations from his travels through countless galaxies. He has chronicled his long journey in the form of ‘Substance Matinale’ an epic 9 track collection of pulsating electronic music. 

Each track weaves its way into the next guiding the listener on an interstellar expedition through the boundless realm of space. With every passing beat and progressive synthesis of sound Le Monkey brings us closer to the most distant solar systems, planets and stars.

Substance Matinale will be the first album in a series of releases from Le Monkey that PUZL Records will help to reveal. This is only the introduction to the project as it begins to evolve into the early stages of a live performance that will translate this auditory narrative on a much larger scale.

LAMP aka The Los Angeles Music Project is a music collective at its core and comprised of a blog, record label, artist management group and event production service. Over the past 4 years it has served to illuminate trending underground house music through daily reviews and long standing weekly mix series. The collective releases music from burgeoning artists in the scene both here in LA and across the globe. They hand pick and nurture aspiring artists in the hopes of accelerating and enhancing their trajectory towards becoming professional producers and DJs. LAMP produces bespoke events in and around the Los Angeles area to encapsulate all of the aforementioned facets of the brand and to bring fans tangible experiences and lasting memories. This year the project hit a maturation point and that saw its founders setting their sights on wider distribution aimed at elevating the music they are stirred by: The formation of a newly launched record label, PUZL Records.

This EP has Bongbeck's breakbeat facette meet the creative tabula rasa of Braunholz. With an apocalyptic vibe provided by Braunholz and an eerie break-beat finish by Bongbeck, "The Sinner" EP opens with a subliminal, still destructive force. Bongbeck lets this force break free with his own interpretation of that gloom, actively alternating between different rhythmic moods. "Broken" plays out the EP, bringing old school instruments and an analogue taste to the table.

If you follow LAMP then you know we are big fans of the amazing label run by Christian Smith, Tronic Records. Today we are very excited to share their new release from a UK producer we have had our eye on for some time Ronnie Spiteri. His EP titled Rough Rider contains two new originals "Can You Feel It" and "Rough Rider". Additionally another amazing producer Dosem put his touch on "Can You Feel It" which we are stoked to have the chance to share with everyone here.

Ronnies original version feels like a perfect marriage between House and Techno (NOT TECH HOUSE!!!) combining classic elements that make them both so great. You have big booming kicks and stabbing synths and a great but simple vocal line that cuts through the track. Dosem who is a genius producer as well gives his own spin on the track and as you would expect he takes a much more progressive approach. Early on we are greeted with deep saw synth that chugs away while modulating ever so slightly mimicking the stabbing synth from the original. A myriad of pads and atmospheric elements build along with the track and we are treated to an epic build that culminates with a spectacular explosion of sound that will surely get the heart pumping and many a dancefloor into a frenzy.

Josh Wink joins Ellum Audio for a stellar new single backed with a remix from DJ Seinfeld.

Josh Wink needs little introduction to fans, or even occasional listeners to dance music. The American DJ and producer has been one of the most enduring figures in the scene with a catalogue of music on labels like R&S, Strictly Rhythm, Nervous, Pokerflat, M- Nus and of course his own long standing Ovum Recordings imprint. As a DJ, he has travelled the globe since the mid-nineties, headlining festivals and clubs wherever he goes. What he has never done in his almost 30-year career is ever lose touch with the roots of underground dance music, something he demonstrates once again here with a standout new single.

‘Feel’ is classic Josh Wink, near eight minutes of pacey, hypnotic dancefloor wonderment fuelled by syncopated percussion and arpeggiated bass which builds the tension before a spacious drop and meditative, spoken word vocal take the reins. Timeless and heartfelt this is a gem from the Philadelphia legend.

Remix duties fall to Sweden’s DJ Seinfeld, the lo-fi house pioneer and Young Ethics label boss who chops things up with a warped bassline, wonky FX and dancing synth lines to bring a brilliant alternative to the table.
