Opening with “I gotta feel your comfort” is a nod to a certain state of mind, emotion and/or impression that was well-washed through time and nostalgia. I find it very interesting how past emotions can change retrospectively and how the (in this case, my) brain can manipulate memories into solely positive or negative emotions. The three verses go from weekend (Sh*t ain’t open on a Sunday) to Monday back to weekend (are you free about this weekend) to intensify the time factor articulated in this song. While the weekend back was something to be clung on to, the lyrical me is still looking forward to the weekend ahead, being positively open-minded while intrigued. The (very) puristic hook is kind of a mantra to not be stuck in the past too much.” - DJ Swagger
