I produced a Public Service Announcement intro track in preparation for my DJ set at House of Yes' sexy party: House Of Love. Every time I DJ and hear my friends complain about how grabby, pushy or disrespectful people were I wish I could have a track, in the form of a friendly and funny public service announcement to remind people (and hopefully educate many) about how to interact, engage and party in an appropriate and respectful way.

So here is the first one of the series. I will be releasing another version without the New York City Department of Dance Floor Safety part but instead simply Dance Floor Safety department so that people outside of NYC and beyond could use it. 

The hope is that promoters, DJ’s, nightclubs and anyone involved in nightlife could use this and play it at any moment to start to change people’s attitude and foster a better party environment.

And since I know how terrifying it could be to mix out of something like this, I made sure to include a smooth mix-out reverb with the longest of mother tails so that you can drop that beat right away and get the party started. Produced with love and consideration for all the DJ’s who have the desire to do things right but may worry about how to get back into the groove. ;)

I always hatted being photographed until i was caught in the eye of a typhoon curiously named Manji, which has now dissapeared somewhere in the Japanese Sea.  I hated it, yes, although there was a picture of me i cherished and proudly displayed in my Tokyo garconniere. This photograph had been taken in 1979 in Mount Hotaka, thousands of miles away from my native Normandy, in a place called Gamadafuji, once a flourishing Haida indian village, now an overgrown ghost palace of stunning beauty and frightening elegance. A few totem poles were still standing, which had been burial posts hundreds of years before. No one could tell what was the fruit of the carver's craft from what was nature's enchanted tribute. Nor could I. I felt both ill at ease and privileged to be here, facing Sakhalin, the unwelcome host to a land i had been dreaming of for a seemingly endless year.

Three years after the original’s release, new life is given to 747’s widely acclaimed acid anthem, Aurora Centralis. The uplifting track, characterized by its iconic singing 303, captivated a wide audience of music lovers of all ages and backgrounds while receiving heavy play from the likes of Aurora Halal, Dr. Rubinstein, Charlotte De Witte, I Hate Models and Bicep. After cult classics on Lobster Theremin, Delsin and more, nthng’s dreamy, soulful sound is much loved and he provides his first ever remix here. Over 10 minutes he takes you on a cosmic ambient techno voyage to the edges of the galaxy on surging groves that leave you entranced.

For the final track, Primal Code have taken their dreamy sound, lush acid melodies and delicate drums to the likes of Hypnus, The Gods Planet and Semantica. It's a style that fits perfectly for this label and their remix is a warm, bubbly and deep techno classic with fuzzy acid and slick drum loops that lock you in the zone.

Tin Man’s ‘Detroit Remix’ and nthng’s ‘Saiyan Dream’ are two superb digital bonus tracks to round things out.

It's nearly dawn when I wake up. I draw the curtain back and take a look. It must have just stopped raining, since everything is still wet and drippy. Clouds to the east are sharply etched against the sky, each one framed by light. The sky looks ominous one minute, inviting the next. It all depends on the angle. The bus plows down the highway at a set speed, the tires humming along, never getting any louder or softer. Same with the engine, its monotonous sound like a mortar smoothly grinding down time and the consciousness of the people on board. The other passengers are all sunk back in their seats, asleep, their curtains drawn tight. The driver and I are the only ones awake. We're being carried, efficiently and numbly, toward our destination. Feeling thirsty, I take a bottle of mineral water from the pocket of my backpack and drink some of the lukewarm water. From the same pocket I pull out a box of soda crackers and munch a few, enjoying that familiar dry taste. According to my watch it's 4:32. I check the date and day of the week, just to be on the safe side. Thirteen hours since I left home. Time hasn't leaped ahead more than it should or done an unexpected about-face. It's still my birthday, still the first day of my brand-new life. I shut my eyes, open them again, again checking the time and date on my watch. Then I switch on the reading light, take out a paperback book, and start reading.
