Critical heavyweights Kasra and Enei join forces once again for another explosive round of powerful drum & bass sonics, this time joined by south-London grime MC JoSoSick.

Both regular solo contributors to the Critical Music catalogue, the studio relationship between label boss Kasra and Enei began well over a decade ago. This latest pair of tracks sees their signature sonic styles combine once again in typically immaculate style.

Beneath JoSoSick’s relentlessly energetic, double-time bars, ’Plan’ is a hard-as-iron two-step rhythm, filled with bubbling percussion and driven by a distorted, jabbing bassline.

‘Sonic Energy’ strips things right back, proving less can always be more and staying true to its name with a spacious, ultra-tough dancefloor weapon that fidgets and stomps with punishing precision.

‘Cant Resist’ breathes Blocksberg’s airy vocals across foreboding cinematic textures and a cold, mechanical groove, driven by deep subs and intricate details; while ‘Downforce’ unloads a stripped back, two-step roller awash with QZB’s now-trademark atmospheric tones, twisting bass and anxious, otherworldly fx.

Title track ‘Arrivata’ sees Waeys link with fellow new school leader, Gino, who brings his manic, trademark energy along for a bone crushing, double distorted smasher, featuring one of the hardest drum rolls you’ll ever hear.

Waeys goes it alone on ‘Dredge’, unloading his insane sound design skills over a tightly wound drum groove and bustling percussion for a satisfyingly weird sonic slugger.

Last, but not least, fresh talent Cosmo gets involved on ‘Let Off’, shutting things down with a moody slice of minimal jump up, dominated by an off-kilter, chattering bassline that gleefully chews you ear off.
