Since 2019 he is part of the Cosmic Gathering team and organizes a music event series on site called Der Automat, which is still in its infancy. For us, he recorded a little journey through his favorite oriental-influenced records and tracks he's been wanting to put into a mix for a long time. Especially the last three tracks are absolute gems for him, which Kyran frequently listens to, but rarely plays anywhere. We hope that you enjoy listening as much as we do.

Santura, Kuolemanlaakso’s sophomore album “Tulijoutsen” (“The Fire Swan”) explores unconquered grounds of heaviness, and pushes the band onto a new level of melancholy.

“Tulijoutsen” will be released as a limited digipak CD with an exclusive bonus track “Raadot raunioilla”, digital download and two different limited vinyl editions: red (150 copies) and black (350 copies).

This is the longest song on my new album and features Charlie Cawood on bass, Stuart Marshall on Drums and Chrissie Caulfield on the violin. They're all amazing musicians. It's a bit It's A Wonderful Life themed.  Spoken word by Nick Wyatt Duke from my so called friends Trojan Horse. 

The new album is called Lucid out on Esoteric Records on the 31st March. It features 11 songs and with contributions from members of King Crimson, Knifeworld, Guapo, Frost*, Trojan Horse, Twinscapes, Dereks Experiment and more.

Brian McBride (1970-2023) was an ambient composer, drone wizard, tonal craftsman, and emulator of "far away" music. As half of Stars of the Lid, the pinnacle duo identified as both post-rock and Arvo Pärt-gardism, McBride is a legendary, internationally recognized name. Many of my friends and listeners know how massive of an influence SOTL – along with the Aix Em Klemm one-off – are on my taste, intellect, and approach to production. SOTL and McBride are widely present in my tracklists and appear often in my sets; I have been attentively collecting this music since I first learned about them in 2003 (thanks be to Epitonic). Today I proudly own all of the SOTL catalog.

For me, McBride's sonic corpus represents several very visceral and personal ideas and memories. Apart from being a glowing representation of immersive distance and landscape, of nature growing intolerant and stating its intentions, McBride’s music at its core is the soundtrack of Central Texas plains and rocky outcroppings, of eroded mountains and dirty, tired water, of the otherworldliness of the Edwards Plateau at night and the mystique of cicada chorusing in harmony with multiple lawn mowers after a violent thunderstorm. It is the tragic music of being from an oppressive place but bearing a profound love for it nonetheless. It is gentle reminders of the environments of my childhood; it is heavy bliss.

For the last 10 years I’ve been releasing this project exploring music that evokes spirituality and a connection to nature. Spiritual music that isn’t necessarily religious in nature and also has a wide musical lens, beyond spiritual jazz or gospel for example.

Spring in my hometown of Montreal always arrives at least 4 weeks later than almost anywhere in the world. And because of our long grueling winters, when springtime arrives in the city you can feel the effect on everyone’s collective mood. There’s a certain indescribable electricity in the air.

This project is dedicated to my mom.
Dedicated to all of us who have survived the storms.

London based Brazilian artist Laima releases the 12” vinyl release of ‘Disco Pregnancy’. The release follows from her double-vinyl debut album ‘Home’, released by DEEWEE last November. ‘Home’ is a striking proposition. It’s a package which features two records that are designed to be played simultaneously: Laima’s vocal and synth tracks on the ‘Tonal’ disc alongside Iggor’s beats on the ‘Rhythmical’ record. By syncing the two records listeners are offered an unconventional way to experience the music.

The ‘Disco Pregnancy’ 12” is out now and for the first time features the combined Tonal + Rhythmical versions of album tracks ‘Disco Pregnancy’ and ‘Home’, all recorded, produced and mixed by Stephen & David Dewaele (Soulwax/2manydjs).
