I Saw Jesus

I saw Jesus
He looked tired and beaten down
He was dressed up like a homeless woman
In a seedy part of town
So I gave Him my last six dollars
And He smiled with a toothless grin  
'Can't fool you...  you saw right through Me
And you bless Me...  when you bless them'

If it's just a cup of water
And you give it in My name
It's just like you gave it straight to Me
The blessing's still the same
When you show love to the least of these
You'll become My diadem (Praise God)

Looking like a Hispanic man
He was moving his clothes from washer to dryer 
So I offered a helping hand
I said, 'You can have this eleven minutes...
It's not much, but it's yours, my friend'
Then He leaned in and whispered softly

The Breaking of the Bread

INTRO

VERSE 1

As we journeyed home this afternoon
We talked of past events
Of a man we'd met a year ago
And things He'd taught us since
We talked of how with just some crumbs
A multitude He fed
That day we watched His hands perform
The breaking of the bread

BRIDGE 1

But the faith that we had placed in Him
Has crumbled 'neath our feet
And the crumbs the world has left us with
They're just not enough to eat
How we wish that things could really be
The way the women said
For we long to see His hands perform
The breaking of the bread

VERSE 2

The stranger who walked with us
Had not even heard the news
And after telling Him we learned
He did not share our views
But He spoke to us of promises
That we had never heard
And He made our hearts to burn within
At each and ev'ry word

VERSE 3

And when we reached our home at last
We asked Him in to stay
And just before He broke the bread
We called on Him to pray
And when our eyes were opened
And we lifted up our heads
We watched His nail-scarred hands perform
The breaking of the bread

And just as quickly as He'd come
The Savior disappears
But gone with Him are all our doubts,
Our anxieties, and fears
Now we're running to Jerusalem
To tell He's risen from the dead
And the reason that we're sure it's Him
Is by the breaking of the bread
