Dan Baartz is back on Trojan House with his signature big bass deep-tech sound. Reflection is an odyssey landscaped by a motion full drum groove on top of a coarse throbbing bass that forces movement. Adding to the flow of this atmospheric creeper is some dark and gorgeous synth work intertwined with a tight inspirational vocal.

Botox hits us hard down low again with a deep droning bass. The groove is constructed around the delayed vocal hook, and the track is complimented with an array of atmospheric pads that create a very danceable, driving and dark vibe.

Hugo steps up, and his remix of Reflection can be described as anything but stable! With a low hovering bass line morphing in and out of the drum groove in unity to keep floors moving, the use of powerful bass drones, synth waves, and tailed fills across the spectrum will have people on their toes trying to keep up.

Pablo Say's interpretation of Botox is a massive tech house monster! Once again, this cut has a dark eerie vibe compliments of the choices of pad and bass tones. With snappy effected drum fills and builds, it's slightly faster pace and deep sub bass, this track has the power to move the toughest dance floors!

Quickly getting into the thick of the action for the new year, Clarisse welcome the dancefloor don of Dos Hermanas, Juan Carlos Cruz Lopez aka Wade. The Spaniard has a diary already brimming with global dates for 2016, with spots at Sankey’s Tribal Sessions in Manchester and this year’s Miami Winter Music Conference at the top of the list. Wade’s down-low throbs have peppered Beatport’s top 100 with the labels Lost Records and Suara (see the Eminem-sampling ‘Collapsed Jam’) among his stops en route, and have racked up recognition from Richie Hawtin, Loco Dice, Luciano and Davide Squillace.

Where push comes to shove and your bar-side stool needs evacuating, ‘Retrojack’ is laden with bumpy, bubble-bursting beats moving to the image of bricks in a washing machine rebounding off a trampoline. Making bodies crunch and lunge, plenty of rap riffin’ spices up the party further with old skool hip-house in mind covering both the block and beach house, and there’s never gonna be anything wrong with a breakdown that winds up and sounds off an air-raid siren before starting all over.

Lowering the weight of the kick drum takes the cunning funkiness of ‘Spined’ to a temple of tribal house. With Wade showing he’s very much for letting the tempo and tempo alone do all the talking, ‘Spined’ would be a dancefloor dominator spoken of with hushed reverence were it not spluttered over by a massive rave hoover and ringing synths going heavy on the panic button. A quicker-stepping marching band you couldn’t wish for, with Wade’s orchestrating a left-right-left sequence like a big bad wolf that’ll quickly have you throwing off winter hats and gloves.

We’re already hitting February in elrow Music HQ and as starting point, here it is the first of two references to spread the love around in Valentine’s month. ERM097 is brought to us by Italian duo Supernova (aka Emiliano Nencioni & Giacomo Godi), a three tracker short take named ‘City Lights EP’. Opening the EP we have ‘Rock The Disco (Original Mix)’, a track high in energy, very playful and with that carnivalesque vibe we all love from elrow latest releases. Following, we find ‘What What (Original Mix)’, that starts just where ‘Rock The Disco’ left it, with a perfectly recognizable tech-house progression, less energetic but with a great vibe of its own, making it a great selection for moody times on the dancefloor, putting the highlight on the sirens by the final section of the track. But the real banger here is ‘Get Hot (Original Mix)’, a track with a truly unique vibe since the beginning till the end, thanks to those horn sounds, strong percussion and subtle and tender vocal line in the background, with great attention to small details. No doubt it will make any crowd go mad within seconds. With this magnificent ERM097 we’re just three releases away from a big landmark in elrow Music, that will reach its 100th release quite soon.
