Over the past few years Jakob has become an influential figure in the Stuttgart scene, running events with his Midnight Service crew and playing alongside acts like Johannes Albert, Marie Lung and Panthera Krause. When he’s not been playing live he’s been notching up acclaimed releases on Frank Music, Zissou, Skylax and Berlin Bass Collective as well as his own Constant Change imprint.

Title-track ‘Sparkling’ kicks off the EP with crunchy percussion and rounded bass notes. Classic piano lines interplay with spiralling synths and acid hooks while echoing snare hits drive you through this peak-time track.

'Enjoy The Light’ blends modern Deep House sounds with club-focussed 90’s nostalgia. Low slung drums and shuffling percussion bounce alongside bright keys and breathy angelic vocals while spaced out synth licks unfold across the track giving an added sense of depth and warmth.

DVRST opens up with a familiar face to the Soul-infused House diggers. Known for putting out an array of sounds across the house spectrum. Stogov explores his debut 'Evening Mood' on the Lisbon-based collective through three original themes. To extend the sound narrative, the label has invited three extra interpretations by the guests C4STRO, Deaf Feet, and OKOFUNK, in which they explore different sound outcomes, adding versatility to the original soulful vision by Stogov.

Soiree Records International serves up the contemporary sound of Detroit's streets with an irresistible new VA EP

Key players Drivetrain, DJ Cent, DistantLover and Marshall Applewhite all feature

First up is Derrick Thompson, aka Drivetrain, Soiree Records founder and a veteran of house and techno invention since the 1990s. His potent opener 'Persuasion' is stripped back and weighty house cut with erotic vocal stabs and a monstrous bassline that will rattle walls while the synths bring bursts of light and hope. DJ Cent embodies the Motor City's soulful and hospitable spirit as she mixes up house, deep, vocal, gospel and Baltimore styles in everything she does. Her fantastic 'Send Me' is a subsonic rhythm that fizzes with static electricity and sizzling chords, and the whole thing throbs with Detroit realness.

Up next, DistantLover oﬀers a deep dive into Detroit's rich musical heritage with 'Green Eyes.' It's a loopy, disco-infused cut with great filter use and a heavy rhythm that is marbled with atmospheric vocals and funky riﬀs that never release the tension. Last of all, YoSucka! and Junte founder Marshall Applewhite blends gritty, low-frequency soundscapes with experimental elements under various aliases on labels like Detroit Underground and Clan Destine Records. His fast and furious 'Front To Back' is a booming house cut with physical drums and spangled synth sequences all run through with warm, diﬀuse machine soul.

The seventh release on OO Recordings takes the shape of a debut EP from one of the most active members of Helsinki’s underground dance scene as DJ WUF shares three original tracks that scan the spectrum of house in its purest forms. To balance the EP off, we have a local legend Imaginary_FRND with a downtempo take.

For the past few years, there has been a name on numerous posters around town (ok mostly virtually but you get the point) as the elusive DJ WUF has made a barking mark on the local scene of Helsinki, Finland. OO Recordings is thrilled to announce the debut EP from one of the nicest, most active, and wonderfully unique characters we’ve had the pleasure of getting to know.

Attention Deficit returns the label to one of our true loves - pure quality house music that serves the dancefloors with that certain groove that this genre in its rawest forms is known for. Much like DJ WUF’s DJing, the EP nods to the origins of the beloved genre yet infuses it with a contemporary take as if to prove that there is still so much to be found in house music and that new names lead to new takes, whilst simultaneously staying true to the genre. DJ WUF carefully plays into the continuum of house music but barks in his way.

The EP kicks off with BP2RE006. A track that blends a sort of basement kick and bass workout with percussions that contrast the depths of the subby floor. This opener is the perfect teaser into the whole EP, as it’s an interplay with the darkness of the night with sprinkles of bright lights on top. The next track - Moxy - was the first we grabbed onto here at OO Recordings. It’s got that certain je ne sais quoi that makes it into that special track that you play when you want to take the next step on the dancefloor. Tension and release, tension and release - without being too obvious about it. After that, we move into the deeper realms of the night sky as Trentnor takes you well into the after-hours mood. DJ WUF’s original vocals robbed with the sustained pads lift you from the current into the escapism that only a long night out can deliver. And boy do we got hats on this cut. No night is complete without the move into the morning light, which on this EP is delivered by Imaginary_FRND (aka J_TDJ of Trevor Deep Jr. aka Jaako Hurme). Taking us into the downtempo-scape, the reworked version of Trentnor isn’t something you were expecting to wrap this up but you’ll feel the connection once you get to it.

House pioneer Louie Vega originally collaborated with Detroit maverick Moodymann on 'Seven Mile' back in 2022 for his ‘Expansions in The NYC’ album. The original single is included here in a short version, along with a gorgeously jazzy Louie Instrumental Demo, and a superb selection of remixes from some of dance music's most vital names.

Dutchman Dennis Quin is a house champion with credits on labels like Defected, Madhouse Records, and PIV. His remix is a kicking house workout, with Moodymann's vocals weaving through the mix, adding smoky soul. These are then stripped away for a more raw instrumental version. Frenchman Rocco Rodamaal is a veteran of the scene for over 20 years, having played all over the world and is a major player in deep house. His Deep Down Mix has been a big hit on global dance floors for Louie already and carefully cooks up a grand, hypnotic sound that consumes the crowd and locks them into its absorbing grooves. Next is Kai Alce, another deep and soulful master who heads up NDATL from his base in Atlanta. His remix is a bumping one with stiﬀ snares and a growling low end that's lit up by sophisticated chords that glow bright and with inescapable warmth.

Rodamaal then works with Parisian producer Alex Finkin on a remix which centres on cosmic and twinkling melodies and spiritual synth lines that weave in and out of Moodyman's musings. Rocco then goes solo on "Bubbly Dubby Mix" with neat chord loops and textured shakers, before oﬀering a pared-down instrumental. Next is Charlie from Soul Clap, the Boston duo famous for their loved-up e-funk sound. His remix is the most direct of the package with chunky drums lit up by prickly synths and meandering jazzy leads that speak to the soul. His Wild Remix turns everything up a notch with more unhinged synths and raucous drums, closing out an essential EP that features cultured house sounds for every moment of the night.
