Akshay Mathker aka Innerworld's Wild City mix doesn't just move subtly, it moves you with the most subtle forces. Starting with dark ambience, the mix is defined by its hypnotic atmospheric nature even when the languid textures clear to the thump of the techno's proprietary grooves. 

Like an experienced DJ, the Goa-based artist layers his selections, elevating them from their standalone value. The ebb and flow between lulling ambient numbers and compelling rhythms begin to combine as distorted gritty kicks creep up from behind the aqueous pads and slow breaks of ULV's 'My Sofa Turns Into A Desert'. The influence of Goa's trance heritage is doesn't shy away as deep airy washes remain a near-constant part of the selections – before the mix slowly turns towards more zany and esoteric cuts for the final push for energy.

A recording of my set (3-4am) closing out the wonderful Scuba Rising doof that occured last weekend. It was a special weekend with many talented artists coming together for over 60hrs of music presented by Megamorphis sound.

This was my first time mixing Psytrance and I've predominatly chosen a selection of Forest Psy.

Torü Szafar [ @toruszafar ] is an Australian DJ and producer renowned for his ability to merge deep grooves that sway the hips with morphing layers that bend the mind.

With over 7 years of experience in the industry, Torü has graced the stages of Naarm/Melbourne's vibrant club nights and festivals (also formerly as part of duo - fütwerk), supporting top artists with his hypnotic rhythms and ethereal melodies. Now based near Byron Bay, Torü is already making waves in the area being booked for various local festivals and club-shows. He is motivated to continue infusing the coastal scene with quality sounds and his unique blend of frequencies.

Inspired by his natural surroundings, Torü's music reflects the beauty and energy of the Australian landscape. His recent venture, Zanda Rec, a record label and event series, promises to champion emerging talent and push the boundaries of electronic music further, reflecting Torü's unwavering commitment to innovation and sonic exploration.

Following up his debut solo release last year on Portuguese label @frequencia-introspectiva, Torü's next release sees him releasing another single on a compilation for another Portuguese label, @atmos_lab. This tribal, deep hypnotic techno groover will be out in the next month!

Currently he is in the studio finishing up the debut release for his own imprint, Zanda Rec. This is set to be a 6 track EP, with 4 originals and 2 remixes.

In the events space, after a successful launch party for Zanda in Feb this year, Torü has just launched his next event which is a collaboration with friend and fellow DJ/Producer Davi Bangma. This will be taking place on Saturday May 11 in the hinterland of Byron Bay and feature Davi and Torü on the lineup!

#ELVTInTheMix 003 features @innerworld- a reflection of Akshay Mathker's exploration into the deeper realms of techno. This Goa based DJ and producer is inspired by the psychedelic and trance music culture that he grew up surrounded by. Dark and mysterious, yet energetic and hypnotic, Innerworld crafts a landscape that invites the listeners to turn inwards, delve deep into realms within, guided by enchanting atmospheres layered with silky wisps of rhythm.

This 71 minute mix begins with a tense, spaced out forthcoming original, setting the tone for the following hour of deep hypnotic sounds, laced with ambient overlays and psychedelic elements. Expect tons of complex sonic textures with atmospheric undertones and cosmic elements that still manage to sound deeply earthy, foresty and in absolute tune with nature. This mix almost seems suited for a ritualistic dances deep in the forest under moonlit skies.
