After a winter of hibernating and incubating I'm starting to look outwards and figured it was a good time to share some of the tunes I've been enjoying over the last lil bit. These are the ones that got me and my baby boppin' .. I hope you feel them too ♡

The evolution continues...as does the rain!

Opening night at Wonky Town was a vibe and a half, the space was a wonderland begging everyone to come play full to the brim with games, interactive installations, a cosy lamp lit lounge and all sorts of other shenanigans 

It was an honour and a privilege to play on a purpose built stage compliments of the festival and Fulcrum Designs in lieu of Sheila no longer being with us - May she forever rest in bass...

Also worth noting for full transparency and celebration of my musical journey that it was my first time performing live directly on the decks sans laptop and controller which was a whole new world in terms of convenience but all wrapped up in the kinda nerves I thought were behind me

Looking forward to continuing the learning process, experimenting with the weaving and manipulating of sound drawing inspiration from those in the know around me and as always with the highest level of gratitude and respect for the original creators

Our 4th single is Tears of Eos.  Eos, the goddess of the dawn, spent her nights crying. Her tears appearing as the morning dew.  This elegant track is inspired by eternal sunrises, an insatiable passion for life, and the timeless beauty of Eos.

Setting the tone for the day ahead at the Boombox Stage on Sunday at Earth Frequency Festival was an absolute deeeeelight!

Morning Mojo, a much anticipated maiden voyage collaboration for The Shady Lady and Blossom Medusa merging their shared love and devotion to Meditation, Yoga, Music, Dance and Tea giving the people what they so desperately need by day three...a cuppa, a spangle informed stretch sesh and a thoughtfully designed soundscape to ease everyone into their day.

We were also so so spoilt on the day to have Cecilia Caleandro join us for the last portion of the set winding everything down to an eventual Sivasana Serenade with ethereal vocals, harp and flute leaving us all in the floatiest of moods. Alas this was not captured and stored as a recording on the day but the memory will stay with all who were there to behold.

The first and last chunk of this set is best enjoyed taking it easy in a cosy, comfortable position with soft or even closed eyes if that’s something that feels good for you then allow the music to be the guide. The pace rises and falls again with many worthwhile messages to be absorbed throughout and a Hare Krishna/Coolio remix you probably didn't know you needed!

I have been blessed to host a night of the Chill-Out stage the last couple years at the best little festie that never happened here in So Cal - The Gathering.  As the party is hosted by the impecacble Chino Sound, I get to play pretty bass music the way it was meant to be experienced.  For the 11th year, I ended up playing a 10-hour set, but as luck would have it, my recorder only captured the first ~6 hours. Never Stop Dancing is a mix series dedicated to all those who find themselves locked in the groove, time and time again. To those who find themselves eyes closed, lost in the music. To those who say "one more song" more than once. To those who live for the collective joy, community, and boundless self-expression of the dance floor. To those who never stop dancing. This mix series is focused on amplifying the sounds of DJs and producers in the Kootenays and British Columbia who honour the rich tradition of house, disco, and techno in their sets.

Old Ben has a keen sense for tasteful, soulful, beats that get a dance floor moving. What's more, he's a stand up guy with a heart of gold. Old Ben is the best man you want by your side at your wedding, the dude who will build a stage for your music festival, the cousin who will buy you a $600 laser. He's always up for a good time and for a boogie with the time is right, and can always be counted on to get the dance floor moving. This set of his is a true testament to Old Ben's ability to find and meld rare, slow, and sensuous house music into a cohesive story. I am honoured that Old Ben spent the time to put it together for me, and I'm so excited to share it with you. 

Old Ben Bio: At the turn of the century the Kootenay rave scene was starting to pop off, and this geezer was there for it. He quickly fell in love with the music and culture. The art of partying and the art of throwing a good party. Most of all, the joy of finding new music and sharing it. Over the years new sounds emerged, genres rising and falling, and through it all he developed a keen ear for music that stands the test of time and speaks to the heart. Old Ben sets are soulful and discerning, serving up beats with the smooth sophistication of a fine wine.
