Gorillaz is a British virtual musical group, formed in 1998 by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, and composed of four animated fictional members (2D, Murdoc, Russel, and Noodle). In reality, music is a collaboration between many musicians, but permanently involves Damon Albarn. Their style represents several musical genres including rock, alternative music, britpop, trip hop, hip-hop, electronica, independent rock, dub, reggae, pop, and rap. Although several other fake bands, whether animated or with real actors, have already been successful, they were only parodies of a particular genre (Spinal Tap, A Mighty Wind) or were designed for a young or even very young audience (The Archies, Alvin & the Chipmunks). Gorillaz is not intended to be a parody or a children's book and its success is as much due to the characters invented by Albarn and Hewlett as to their music.

Though he was already a prolific DJ and an upcoming producer, his travels helped him to refine his skills and discover the deep and immersive world of sound healing and folktronica. He's held residencies with some of the world's best organic electronic producers and DJs (Mose, J.Pool). 

LECOURS evokes "the thread of time". For him, this name symbolizes the elusive mystery of existence, and the inevitability of life "taking its course". 🌿
