About the CD:
I had to share another mix from Roger Sanchez to pay some respect to another dj who, at his best was 'the best dj in the world' in my eyes. As mentioned in the other cd's write up, his US and more importantly... New York city sound was so unquestionably addictive, unrivalled in its head bobbing ability and everyone on the floor vibes. I always remember one moment in the gents at Middlesborough's Sugar Shack when a seemingly innocent clubber said 'Who the hell is this DJ?!' to which someone replied 'Roger Sanchez'. This second CD shows this clubbing power and is arguably his best mix on a disc, but I'm happy for someone to recommend others. Sadly his selections have lost the NYC flavour of yesteryear but the main still needs representing in 'The Classic Mix CD Series'. S-Man... we salute you.

New episode... 026. This CD is from Tyrant aka Craig Richards, Lee Burridge (& occasionally Sasha). The disc was released in the year 2002 on via Fabric and holds special memories for the 40 of us on the bus heading down to The Bomb in Nottingham each month, a tiny basement club with white walls, low ceilings and just a red and blue strobe light (if I remember correctly). At the time... this party was without doubt the one to be at in the country and arguably the world. The trio created a dubby, sexy sound which went onto create some of the most respected underground dj careers in the world. Awesome music and great times indeed.

This CD was the first of the 'United DJs of America' collections I ever bought and I always remember the haunting intro than opens up into the rolling Sanchez loop with quintessential S Man bass drop. This is what Roger Sanchez sounded like and every club he played at was on fire. This is the 3rd CD from him in our Classic Series... and he's there for a very simple reason, this sound made you dance more than any other.

With the opening track 'The Flame' by Fine Young Cannibals then Green Velvet's 'The Stalker', this CD sets the pace right from the start and keeps going. The second last track is an all time favourite... Roger S presents The Deep - 'Vibe'. A truly relentless mix CD showing Sanchez at his very best. So turn it up... and enjoy the mix.

A few months after the release of the first reference of his own imprint 'Night Shift Records' and after selling all the stock quickly, Madrid DJ and producer Javi Frias is back again with the second EP on his label. During this time he was number 1 sales at Juno with his first 7" on Disco Pocho and got a big success with his edit of Susana Estrada classic 'Quitate El Sosten'.

This time he's back to the razor blade to deliver a four track 12"" entitled 'Move To The Groove', keeping the spirit of classic editing art in good shape. The EP includes four songs that have never been edited before, wisely chosen from among those hidden gems that surely needs some light and love. On the A side we have 'Tender Feeling', an amazing groove based on a soulful sample over a disco house rhythm with perfect vocal harmonies, and 'Move To The Groove', the perfect example of a dancefloor tune, furious disco funk full of horns and percussion.AThe B side starts with 'Supah Stah', classic disco sound with a wonderful female vocals and strong rhythm section plenty of breakdowns and funky basslines. The general consensus has been that "The Secret Life of Us" CD is the strongest album yet from Joey Negro's Sunburst Band. Recently managing to top the Solar Sweet Rhythms chart, Starpoint Soul Chart, Amazon Dance chart, now we start to see some of the cuts in extended remixed form.

The brassy disco funk jam "Take It To The Top" gets an extended beefed up treatment from Joey Negro. As always with Sunburst tunes the instrumentation is top notch, while Noelle Scaggs vocals ride beautifully over the top.

For those who like things a bit more electronic Andreas Saag delivers a brilliant remix that retains the jazziness of the original but underpinned by a crazy syncopated bassline.
