Tearra’s  (Teeah-Louise) “Just Loving You” through the importation of copies into the UK became popular with the exponents of the modern soul genre eventually crossing over to find favour with the members of the Northern Soul scene. Now regarded as one of the corner stone anthem’s of the modern soul genre this 45 is still a highly sought after item. Tearra had been born Teah Louise in Mobile Alabama. During the early to mid 1970’s Manny Campbell began spending more of his time in Atlanta GA. Finally making it his permanent home during 1979, the same year that he set up his Emandolynn Music studios, with Teah joining him very soon after. During 1980, Manny offered Teah the chance to record a prospective new album entitled ‘Great Love’ and subsequently released two lead 45 singles from the project on her. Firstly under her real name of Teeah-Louise the disco influenced “You Happened To Me/Got To Keep You Mine’ (Coastal-1002) followed by the second 45 “Ooh Let This Feeling (Last A Long, Long Time) backed with the desirable “Just Loving You” (Midtown 1001) with Midtown, by then being Coastal’s main record distributor. This second release appeared under the artist name of Tearra, due to Teeah Louise by now not wishing to use her real name. Both the Coastal and Midtown releases were only ever pressed in 500 promotional copies runs with the anticipated ‘Great Love’ album project unfortunately never being completed.  A later 12” Coastal Records single issued on the group ‘Tomorrows Wish’ features the song “My Love For You” which too shares the same backing track as Tearra’s “Just Loving You”. Incidentally the co-writer with Manny Campbell on Tearra’s “Ooh Let This Feeling (Last A Long, Long Time)” song happens to be cousin and former Delights member Keith “Toppie” Hill.

Nadine Brown was a Jacksonville, Florida born soul singer, whose professional recording career started in 1977 with single 'Leave Me Alone' produced by Frederick Forsh ( a cousin of his next door neighbor in Canton, Ga) on Perfection Sound Studios label. She went to record two other singles 'Gypsy Man' b/w 'Let Me Take Back The Things I Said' for Awesome Records & Tapes (Miami, Florida).In 1982 Nadine was introduced to Manny Campbell (producer/writer) of Emandolynn Music via her record store dealer who knew her at the time, when Nadine lived in Smyrna Georgia (she owned a beauty salon at the time). They recorded only two songs,  'Sho Ain't Nothing With Love' b/w 'Your Love' under the Atlanta, Georgia based Coastal Records label (Manny Campbell's indie imprint) banner in 1983.Nadine Brown was often described as a soulful cross between Millie Jackson and Mavis Staples. No other professional recordings are known after, and tragically her life was cut short in 1988. Nadine Brown left us with momento's of her dynamic and impressive vocal talent that will live on forever.

 'Breakaway' was a demo from a group of background singers (The Girls) written/produced and recorded by Manny Campbell in his Atlanta Studio's in 1986. Group included the Tyler Perry actress/star Crystal Fox who went on the pursue acting full time and starred in Heat Of The Night shortly after. 

Communication single 'Sweet Matilda' was a single from a album that never released. Communication was a working band at the time, and the members eventually split up. 

Vari was an Atlanta based 3 member male group who released their debut self titled album in the 80's with assistance from Manny Campbell's 'Coastal Records' imprint. All members are living and working all over Europe as corporate singers.

Emandolynn Music presents Rare Soul Volume 3 featuring unreleased, and rare soul music from the catalog of Philadelphia based songwriter/producer Manny Campbell and his production company Emandolynn Music. Volume 3 features rare/unreleased music from Carolynn Porter, Sharisma and The Delights.
 

Philly’s own Carolynn Porter, a popular session singer and performer. 
She recorded several singles and demos for Manny Campbell’s imprint Monica Records (named after Mr. Campbell’s daughter Monica). Only two singles were formally released via 45 promo copies (You’re The Reason My Heart Beats/ Away With You - 1969).  All music was recorded at famous Sigma Sounds Studios in Philadelphia. Arrangements by Roy Lee Johnson and background vocals and music from The Trammps. 


Sharisma was a group out of  Wilmington, Delaware that worked with Emandolynn music from 1969-1970. After meeting at a show, they traveled to Philadelphia to record with Manny Campbell (Soulville Productions) in hopes of completing a album. Before they could complete album recorded at Sigma Sounds studios, the group disbanded due to lead singers being drafted in military and returning to Vietnam War.



The Delights consisted of four male singers. With two of them being Manny Campbell's cousins, brothers Keith Toppie' (the eldest) and Ellis Hill, their cousin Jaime Hill plus a teenage friend of theirs. The lead singer was a girl called Peaches, all aged between 16 and 17 years old and all coming from Chester, PA. They had all previously been employed as individual backing singers on early recording sessions for the like's of the O'Jay's , Delfonic's and Stylistic's. With a family connection to Manny Campbell it was inevitable that they would feature on some of his production sessions, with the Nuron's All Of My Life/I'm A Loser' being one of them. Manny gathered them together to form a vocal group of their own under the group name of 'The Delights'. Under his tutelage they recorded the delightful crossover soul dance track Listen To Me Girl' during the months of July and August of 1968. Sadly their only completed recording being young and somewhat unruly they never completed the project's Manny had in mind for them. Listen To Me Girl' was composed by Manny and Charles J. Bowen a fellow Philadelphian, musician and composer, Charles's writing credits can be found on many of Manny's other productions. During the mid 1970's The Delights did go on to record two excellent 45's for the Phil-L.A Of Soul Label.

The Nu’rons, hailing from Salem, New Jersey released several 45's including the rare northern soul classics "All My Life", "I'm A Loner", and "Disco Hustle". This EP is a collection of the first professional recorded music from The Nu’rons via Philadelphia producer/writer Manny Campbell of Emandolynn Music.

The Nu’rons had a reputation as one of the best soul groups out of the Philly/Jersey soul music scene at the time. The Nu’rons recordings are very rare and obscure releases from Stage Art label in 1971, originally recorded October 27th 1970. Includes the classic singles All My Life / I'm A Loner (remastered from the original Sigma Sounds Studio tapes). Originally recorded October 27th, 1970, the new unreleased mix/master was done by legendary mixing engineer Tom Moulton and mastered by Peter Humphries of Masterworks.

Also includes never released instrumentals/demo’s from the vaults of Philly’s Emandolynn Music.
