EMB014 - Thefft - Name Shame / No Want That

    On their sophomore release with Embassy the young Atlanta duo 'Broodlings' deliver two songs filled with very intricate drum work. the A side, a nod to early electro and the B side, a look into our future with frenetic percussion and a heavy emphasis on sample chopping.

    'Rough landing' is a nice homage to the funk of electro and minimalism of breaks. However the melodies are what shine here culminating slowly into a wave of tension that washes over you from start to finish. Their use of abstract chords show off the depth of how subtly always works in minimalism's favor. The bass and chords continually suggest movement coming to a halt as if landing amid a storm with everyone on board squeezing tight for that final touchdown. 

   'Two Three' picks up the pace from where Rough Landing left off. A heavy emphasis on layered tribal percussion is the foundation while hypnotic vocals and fx add color to the buildings' facade. Simply put -- the name of the game here is atmosphere.

    Both tracks show an impressive stand for the duo. In all major digital shops on March 25th, 2013. Distributed via St Holdings UK.
