Embers are an acoustic rock band, based in Beeston, Nottingham. They comprise Dan Allford (vocals, guitar), Andy Mitchell (lead guitar), Matt Ambriose (bass, backing vocals) and Phil Swan (drums). They formed when Andy, Dan and Phil started jamming in Phil's flat. Phil wanted to learn drums. Dan didn't want to learn bass! Matt joined some time later, bringing with him a wealth of songwriting experience, backing vocals and bass, Embers mix their influences, exploring various styles within their overall natural acoustic sound. Lyrically their music is honest, metaphorical and intensely emotional - a contrast to the current trend towards irony and sarcasm. Embers are rock, but not as you know it.
