Late last October I was invited to play a warm-up set for the inaugural weekend of Horst Club. The perfect occasion to prepare something special, I took a stroll through my record collection and went deep into the stuff I’ve had for ages but was maybe too dark or strange to play. Starting off slow, this set winds through some kooky obscure percussion, intermittent bleeps, cosmic sparkles, apocalyptic voice samples (‘it’s the end of the world’, ‘can we change the future’).
My main aim was to arrive at the final track by Deg aka Circadian Rhythms… and after 2 hours and 22 minutes my mission was accomplished! As I handed the controls over to Marco Shuttle, he said it was a very ‘British’ selection… I guess I can’t help myself. 😀

My Recorder was totally distorted in the beginning and I honestly thought the recording did not work but the limiter kicked in after 20 minutes so  here is my set from 20 minutes in, opening Room 1. "I think, fairly obviously, when you try to think about musical influence, you try to throw your mind back to the earliest music you can remember listening to - and for me, I grew up listening to a lot of blues and jazz at home - records played firstly by my Dad and then later my older brother. Whilst I wasn’t conscious of it for a long time in my teenage years, that influence has definitely resonated in small ways in the way I appreciate music - and the way I DJ - today: from jazz, a willingness to abandon or challenge convention; and a love of the grit of the blues."

We catch up with @milluu, Melbourne DJ and selector of all things eclectic; think left-field electronics, ambient, psychedelia, kraut and beyond. With regular slots on Triple R and Skylab Radio, and having played the likes of Inner Varnika, Golden Plains, Strawberry Fields, Hopkins Creek and Club D’erange, she has quickly become renowned for her unique sound and ability to work any dance floor with her deep cache of esoteric gems.
