Presenting a brand new project from MC Fokus and Medic MC - X Bar Theory. 

With this new collaborative alias, Fokus & Medic have set out to create a brand new act. Forming a new group, with a complete unit of DJs and properly crafted sets aiming to preserve the artform of the MC -respecting the culture with a passion for putting lyricism at the forefront of the music. They’re looking to bring a different vibe when they are on stage with unique flows and combinations, a club set fused with a 'live PA' vibe. 

This Studio Mix represents the first step in the journey, expertly mixed by Ant TC1, with vocals from this exciting new duo. 
 
Both heavily influenced by UK MC-culture across the genres - sound system, jungle, DnB, grime, hip hop, rap. We’ll be releasing the first single from X Bar Theory on the 10th June via Beatport Exclusive and our own website/Bandcamp – the general release date is the 24th June.

MINI MIX DNB (PT.2)

Over the coming months I'll be sharing snippets of my sets at Phonox. Here's an hour captured during a warmup at my new residency. 

Since I’ve started it's allowed me to delve a bit deeper into the sounds I grew up with in Cape Town, South Africa around the late 80’s to early 90’s. It’s been very special and loads of fun playing and sharing "Kwaito" in particular, a genre formed at the end of apartheid which presented new musical possibilities and ideas, taking inspiration from classic Chicago House but with a slower and groovier tempo, enjoy!

Jolla is a South West based Host/MC, nurtured and raised in the shire of Devon. 5 Years at the forefront of the DnB scene with residencies with Rinseout (The longest Running DnB Brand in the southwest) and Unit 37. With his unique and versatile style, Jolla has made himself a firm favourite with DJs and Clubbers alike. The last year has seen him hosting for the likes of ED Rush, The Upbeats, Ivy Lab, Spectrasoul, Icicle and many more.
