      EMC2 (emcee squared) is a Chicago based artist who is a combination of many poets. Born May 18, 1970 to Ronald Emanuel and Marsha Jackson, EMC2 (Ronald Jackson) grew up in the Robert Taylor Homes on Chicago's South Side. Growing up around a large family of aunts, uncles and cousins, he adapted to all genres of music especially funk, jazz and blues. In 1982, he and mom moved further East to the South Shore/Bryn Mawr neighborhood. There, he met a new group of friends and heard a new form of music called hip hop. Falling in love instantly, Ron adapted the sciences of hip hop including breakdancing, graffiti art and rhyming. 
      In high school, he met Ray Morris (Mr. Shonuff) who introduced him to Rob Thompson (DJ Jazznosis). There, they formed The Super MCs and tried to take the city by storm. Ron went by the name MC Ski. At that time, the group wasn't labeled as one of the elite in Chicago's underground hip hop scene, but kept it going. Soon, the three graduated high school to pursue life goals. Ron joined the military while Ray and Rob pursued higher education.
      In 2003, Ron found Ray and found out that He and Rob were still rhyming. This time, Rob formed a label and named it T'IZM Sound. Ron instantly jumped on board and started recording with his old school buddies. With joints like Hood Graphix, Gladiator, Dizzle Bizzles, End of Madness and Stormy Weather, they attempted to take the city by storm again. Between shows, appearances and mixtapes, their fanbase and following grew. But right along success came problems. At that time, the three didn't live near each other. With Ray on the Southeast Side, Rob up Far North and Ron in Eastern Central Illinois (Danville), it was almost impossible for the three to connect and put in work. Soon, the guys disbanded again. Ron continued to write.
      Now, in 2012, Ron has returned to the city where it all started. This time bringing in his own arsenal of poets to aid in awakening the mentally dead. EMC2 is the definition of an exponent of emcees sharing one mindspace. The main character, Rizzo Da' Southsida, is a rough and gritty battle rapper hellbent on destroying competitors. Intelligent Poetik/ The Ghost is a poet and a teacher digging deeper into the minds of the 85ers. Kenjuro the Wise is a warrior poet from feudal Japan with many styles. Then there's John Brownstone. A poor pimp from the 1970's who believes that " All it takes is some wine and a dime to get some bitch's time." Along with him is his band, The Motherfuckas Who Don't Give A Fuck About A Bitch. They are sure to raise some eyebrows and make some mouths drop.
      Coming to a venue near you soon, listen and look for EMC2 and T'IZM Sound to rock the mic' and entertain the masses.
