There is no connection without attention and listening. Listening can take many forms, the more attention there is, the more detail comes to light and the more contexts come in. I like to think of myself as a sponge that sucks in everything that surrounds it, and when it fills up, everything that’s inside drips out of it together: it’s all the same and yet completely different. The question is, what can we pass on from what we hear, do we have to pass it on as a whole or in parts, and do we have to pass it on at all, or do we just have to pay attention? I like to listen, and I record sounds every day, my recorder and I listen together, and we often hear different things. The recorded sounds create a new context in a way that the old one does not lose its essence; they rather complement each other. Eavesdrop with me.
