With solid releases on Beat Is Murder, Nein, Musique Exotique, and ESTHÉTIQUE, Czech DJ and producer Andreas Rund has established himself as an "artist to watch" in the new Dark Disco/Indie Dance scene. After his collaboration on a previous release of Azaria on the very same Espacio Cielo, he is back on the Spanish label and good music powerhouse - excellently curated by Parissior - with "Due Absence", an EP that follows the dark line of his previous works and is brilliantly and insightfully remixed by Daniel Monaco (SXDNS137/FREEDL006) and ID_UA.

In the inspiring remix we chose to premiere, Kyiv-based artist Igor Dyeyev aka ID_UA decided to bring together some of his voodoo and tribal influences and combine them with melodic arpeggiated synth layers and a vast variety of percussive elements. The affluence of witchcraft, instruments (even didgeridoo-like riffs), and effects delivers a powerful theme and showcases the great talent of this creative Ukrainian producer.

"CSK has been releasing great dark disco tunes and here there is another chapter released on Emerald & Doreen, a record label that historically pushes the limits of Electronica with new 80s-inspired fusions of Cosmic & Dark Disco, Psychedelic House and Italo Disco-ish Synthwave.
The Cantor remix deconstructs the dark and obsessive atmosphere of the original mix providing a sort of acid-balearic interpretation. Cantor finds a way to escape from the dark edge identifying a feeble light hidden by obscurity and then expanding it in all its warmth.  
Squelchy bass lines and vocoded vocals march over a more funky groove keeping the tension moving forward while electric piano and strings raise the awareness of a possible way out from this futuropolis governed by psychotic cyborgs."

Quixotical Records is an Argentina/Lithuania-based record label, music channel, and party organizer founded in 2020 by Emmanuel Poulper (SXDNS146) and Aurum Miles. Focusing on indie dance filled with mysterious waves, drama, sex, and dark feelings, aiming at never losing the groove and driven by disco and techno influences with EBM flashes and electro pieces, the project has been making some noise and drawing the attention through their well-curated mixtapes and free edits. Now, with "QXT001", the first official release of Quixotical, the game will start for real. The Various Artists album features 17 artists and 13 tracks. Among the dream team brought together by the lads, some important names from the Indie Dance/Dark Disco scene: Alvee (FREEDL019), Colossio (SXDNS025), Csk (SXDNS088), Diego Montiel (SXDNS194), Fabio Me Llaman Soltero (SXDNS187), Fausto (SXDNS064), Man2.0 (SXDNS081), plus label bosses themselves, just to name a few.

The track we chose to premiere was made with love by Italian DJ and producer Francesco Mantovani aka Csk. His contribution to the compilation brings Francesco exploring his darkest and most obscure side. Owner of an impeccable technique, the veteran producer blends successfully and seamlessly his old and new influences, creating something fresh devoted to the dance floor. The thick bassline, the percussive riffs, and the menacing synth pad definitely put Csk’s theme amid the highlights of the release. Watch out Quixotical, peeps! It came to stay!
