Beyond The Struttosphere is a sonic collaboration between two London-based DJs combining their considerable musical production experience with an insatiable passion for cosmic chugging dark disco.

The cosmonauts embark on their most ambitious journey yet with the release of ‘Odyssey-10’ on Emerald & Doreen records. True to its name, the lead track evokes an epic space voyage propelled by driving arpeggiators, chunky layered percussion, high-octane guitar hits and the signature BTS chug bassline. The tune progresses into a tectonic breakdown heightened by spacey Juno chords before launching into a dynamite crescendo that burns contrails through the atmosphere. Remixes are provided by two bastions of the scene: Mexican dark wave star Vongold introduces lustful celestial vocals into the mix, dialling down the tempo, and repurposing the track into a post-punk acid chugger that takes no prisoners. French dark disco connoisseur Badknife applies his masterful touch with a second remix, cranking up the throb and deploying interstellar synth arrangements that will have you reaching for your seatbelt.

The duo venture into uncharted territory with ‘Satellite Cities’, a collaboration with cosmic queen Miss Zagato. Undoubtedly their funkiest production to date, this galactic chugger is a hypnotic blend of funky guitar plucks, electrifying stabs and groovy riffs, underpinned by Miss Zagato’s intoxicating lyrics that transport you to the moon in a hypersonic X-15. Building in momentum and complexity, the track climaxes with a mesmerising vocal chorus, elevated by cosmic synth melodies and a resonating mid-range bass that will echo for aeons to come. The original is backed by a sublime remix from Spanish electronic virtuoso, Ivan Fabra, whose take re-imagines the track as a pulsating Balearic dancefloor anthem loaded with powerful drums and ethereal pads that melt into the sunset.

The EP concludes with ‘Storming Heaven’, a sonically charged acid trip that adventures through the cosmos, guided by a weighty chugging bass, a psychedelic 303 line, tripped out guitar chords and an array of cosmic FX. The tune traverses two mystical breakdowns before ascending into stratospheric planes with a euphoric synth sequence and a staggering guitar solo courtesy of long-time BTS collaborator Stannard Procedure. Daytona - Love The Way (feat. Kel & Magnus)

Stahler aims to spread joy through creating lofty and floating dark disco & indie dance sounds. His melodic indie dance sets are appreciated for their danceable, yet wobbly and deep sounds infused with tasteful influences from the lively 80s, banging Italo Disco and solid Dark Disco tunes, covering wide electronic frequency terrains. Since 2018, Sascha is producing music under his artist name Stahler and released various tracks until today ranging from deep house to indie dance.

Moving from Singapore to Berlin in 2014 Stahler discovered the decks during a night of escalation and synth ecstasy. Shortly after he began playing DJ sets at intimate events & house parties before he started to perform at bigger parties and events, ranging from art exhibitions to clubs and festivals.

Here is his new single is coming with a banging remix by Athens producer Kay-Chi, who just released a fantastic remix for Italo Brutalo and a EP on Epicure, before that he released tracks and EPs on Bungalow Disco, Rare Wiri and the like.

Axel Smet and Quinten De Meester started Hola Olas back in 2018, mainly as a dj-project and somewhat later as a production outfit. Over the years though, the focus shifted from djing to producing. While producing, they subconsciously remain influenced by the music we listen to every day and play in their dj-sets. It's an amalgam of House, New Wave, early Trance and of course the uplifting spirit of Italo Disco. Especially the latter is noticeable on the Excess Energy EP. It's not classic Italo Disco but the echoes of it remain noticeable within their productions, as fierce arpeggios and retro-synth lines characterize the mood and setting of the sonic world they try to bring about.

The Kike am Radar remix adds some high noon post-punk edge to the game, James Rod turns „Addiction“ into a dusty, slow motion new wave monster from outer space. K-Effect turn it into a chuggy synth wave groove and MontCosmic's punchy remix is maybe the tightest of them all with its anthemic vocals, driving new beat acid synths, hypnotic grooves and heavy handclaps. Emerald and Doreen presents When the World Gets You Down by San Francisco artist JP Soul. Most known for his productions on his label Roam Recordings, his collaborations with 40 Thieves, Anthony Mansfield, and Jeniluv (as JP & Vulinej), JP Soul has started to venture out this year delivering two EPs for Emerald and Doreen, an EP for Nein, as well as contributions to Logical and La Dame Noir. 

Though generally a cheery guy in When the World Gets You Down the artist reflects on the current state of world affairs characterised in the title track with gritty distorted melodies over a driving acid line. The Grind continues this mood with its heavy hitting mid-tempo drive.

Accompanying the two originals is a spectacular guitar laden remix by the impeccable Curses who keeps true to the original while infusing his characteristically tight production and lush soundscape. Up and comers The Shamanic Movement take on The Grind and deliver a darker remix perfect for late night dirty warehouse parties or even dirtier after parties.
