Austrians Fellier Florian and Felix Brunhuber, better known as Wild Culture, have fast become two of Kittball’s most prized producers. Their arrival to the German imprint came in late 2012 with ‘For Everything’ making a prominent dent in Beatport’s Deep House chart, an immediate success which saw the duo return to the label to release a three-track EP titled ‘Faith’ featuring singer-songwriter Josh Savage as well as Kittball’s leading lady Juliet Sikora. Now as a tribute to the duo’s work Kittball present a remix package with a host of skilled producers remodelling three of the Austrian most sublime tracks. 
First off Nico Pusch takes ‘Faith’ into subterranean depths, stripping back it’s off beat percussion and replacing it with thudding four-four and waves of esoteric synths. Purple Disco Machine then deliver a renovation of ‘In You’, warping the original from its gentle and melodic vibe into one riding on a heady groove and bouncy bassline embracing a far darker tone. Lastly Wild Culture’s inaugural hit ‘For Everything’ receives a complete overhaul, whereas the original was joyous and upbeat David Jach’s remix manipulates it into a monstrous bass-driven jam with its playful vocal samples now heavily chopped and distorted to an ethereal result.

On the trail of their double A-side single Rotation, released in December, dreampop shoegaze stars Ummagma celebrate their ethereal Stereolab-MBV-spirited uber-song ‘Lama’ with a mind-expanding package of eclectic remixes by an international roster of producers and artists, most of whom you might not directly connect to genres like noise rock or dreampop. Apart from their own Ukrainian and Canadian footings, this Ummagma LP is a uniting force of sonic satellites with creations from Italy, Sweden, Germany, Brazil and Russia.

This is exactly the point we usually drive home at Emerald & Doreen: bringing great new artists together in new ways to create art capable of transforming deep feelings and emotions into sounds and music. In this release, all remixers have contributed their own wavelengths and energy to create new versions of this great song. 

The outcome is proof that beauty is found in diversity. Italy’s original electro new wave pioneer Alexander Robotnick sways with a spaced out, chilled dream pop version. Irregular Disco Workers add some severe 80s mood and 90s acid feel. Copycat fuses a Moroder-esque synth disco arpeggio with My Bloody Valentine-style vocals and guitars to ingeniously please indie and disco lovers at the same time! Theatre of Delays delivers a heartbreaking emo house version that brings you into the fifth dimension. Label-makers go nogo turn Lama into a Stereolab-esque breakbeat beauty with Notwist-like sounds and 90s indie guitars. Mind Movies turn ‘Lama’ into a flipping, winding mechanical world of breakbeat, swirling around its own axis, and spinning a beautiful tumbling dance. Sounds of Sputnik add a 70s psychedelic edge to it, infusing this track with electro wonder. The feeling you get from listening to all these versions is similar to an overwhelmingly awesome ride!

Early 90’s, born & raised to David Bowie & Talking Heads music Did Virgo was ready to stumble upon House & Techno Music.
Embarking on a trip from London to Chicago & Detroit, the 30 years old boy got access to Marseille’s 1st electronic club control desk as a destination.
Techno & House Music were still a sub-culture in the making and Did Virgo wanted to share the love not only by djing but also by opening a bar, broadcasting a radio show & promoting events in his hometown.
Y2K was the time to make it complete by running a label « Pornflake » & starting
producing music with a friend. The boys got the chance to remix « Troublemakers » and to release a few EPs on an English label…. Did Virgo was ready to start to produce music on his own and he started another label called virgo music with his soulmate Paul Virgo.
2010, « La dame Noir » opens a bar in Marseille, this place is devoted to slow tempo & the dark side of disco music, Did Virgo is attracted.
The bar evolves in a club, he takes a residency, the club evolves into a label and Did Virgo find a natural home to release his music. And from there, the story evolved...here is his spæcial mix!

DEEPER TONG: SPÆCIAL MIX 422

Berlin-based synth-wave band Dina Summer released their highly anticipated second album 'Girls Gang' earlier this year via Iptamenos Discos. The super band which is formed by Kalipo (also known for his work with electro-punk band Frittenbude) and dark disco DJ/producer duo Local Suicide first made waves in the scene with their 2021 EP ‚Who Am I‘ before releasing their critically acclaimed 2022 debut album ‚Rimini‘ and 2024 EP ‘Hide & Seek’. They also contributed to Curses’ ‘Next Wave Acid Punx‘ compilation, participated in Purple Mag x radiooooo’s '2070' project, and performed at Reeperbahn Festival's prestigious ‘Collide Session’.

The new album is a versatile collection of 11 tracks that delve into themes such as empowerment, outsiderhood, impermanence, nostalgia, and relationships. While their debut album was characterized by its club-centric sound, drawing from italo disco and '90s electro influences, this new release explores a richer palette of new wave, post punk, and synth pop. The sophomore longplayer is more song-oriented, often featuring real bass and guitar, and showcases a more vocal-driven performance from frontwoman Dina, incorporating more singing alongside her trademark spoken words. Yet, it retains the same catchy melodies Dina Summer is known for, offering both indie pop hymns and a few undeniable club anthems.

After recently releasing a bunch of remixes by DJ Hell, Damon Jee, Phunkadelica, The Populists, Karassimeon, Boys’ Shorts, Karla Lynch, Moderna, The World Domination, & Etane the trio is now back with even more reworks by befriended artists Joyce Muniz, Stockholm Syndrome, IBÄ, Nici Palm & JG Outsider!

The uprising Leipzig-based DJ, producer and party curator Nici Palm chops up & re-arranges the vocals from ’No More Tears’ and adds a tech groove and multiple rich synth layers to create an ode of female empowerment.
