Nurturing Transnational Solidarities in Student Movements for Palestine

The Show hosted by CURA Berlin & Shelly Booo is returning with guest Blo͞o, founder of Klubb99.

Klubb99 was born from a simple idea: bring back the raw spirit of the 90’s underground rave — packed dancefloors, people lost in the music, zero phones, and nothing but pure vibes. While Boo runs the project solo, every edition is shaped in collaboration with talented friends from his local scene. Huge gratitude to Sasha, Joppe, Anna, and Nicolò — each has been essential in making Klubb99 what it is.

Their mission is to create a safe, dream-like space centered on the queer community — a place where you can show up exactly as you are, where authenticity is celebrated, and where the music becomes our common language. They thrive in unexpected locations — from intimate club nights to secret illegal raves — with a program designed to both satisfy and surprise. Sometimes they give the crowd exactly what they want, sometimes we push them toward sounds they didn’t know they needed — filling a gap they often feel in the local scene.

When it comes to music, they refuse to be boxed in. Each night blends emerging talent and established names, crossing genres and influences to create something impossible to label — but unforgettable to feel.

The Artist:

Blo͞o (/bluː/) — is an Amsterdam-based DJ/producer with California roots and a Brazilian heartbeat — his sets are immersive explorations through bass-heavy polyrhythms, ambient textures, leftfield techno, tribal grooves, and Latin-infused house — refusing to settle within a single genre or formula.

Drawing from a wide spectrum of underground sounds, he crafts layered, percussive journeys that emphasize rhythm, tension, and release. Whether in a dark club or an open-air setting, his approach remains focused on movement and mood, blending global influences into tightly woven, forward-thinking sets.

About his set:

Opens with an emulation of the rewinding of a cassette, setting the stage for Gyrofield’s latest hit “Vegetation Grows Thick”. From there the energy shifts into a polyrhythmic, and driving journey — blending breaks, techno, house and bass with layered percussion and tribal undertones. Each transition plays with energy like a tide, building tension and releasing it in waves, keeping the floor locked in and guessing what’s next.

THF Radio hosted Queens Against Borders (QAB) on the station for the first time. In previous years QAB has established artists, platforming trans and queer refugees/immigrants that has brought a strong voice of visibility Center Stage.

For the second show, QAB curator The Darvish has a 101 conversation about asylum seeking and challenges of being a refugee in Germany with activist Bright Ofosu Amoabeng.

This show was broadcast as part of Refugee Week on Air 2025, an international radio programme dedicated to amplifying the voices and stories of musicians, activists, and creators from refugee backgrounds around the world.
