A groundbreaking  album which marks the modernization of Guadeloupean music, it will give birth a few years later to the global zoukphenomenon. This version gathers for the first time the original version as the rare  US version of the album (with 4 different tracks). 
Kassav’ was founded by Pierre Edouard Decimus (before member of Les Vikings de la Guadeloupe) and Jacob Desvarieux, who was at this time a young african music arranger / musicians. 
Following the meeting with Guadeloupean musicians / producer Freddy Marshall (aka F.M. Band), they decided to merge traditional guadeloupean rhythms and percussions (as "Tambours Saint Jean") with US funk as broadcasted by radio all over the carribean islands.
