In the nineties a move to the UK came as a consequence of his studies and with him a pulsating eagerness which helped Lateral Movement to dive right into the local music culture, effervescent as ever. There he meandered effortlessly through genres, taking him deeper into the arts whilst aiding his curiosity, from free jazz to indietronica. Returning to his homeland, Portugal, subtracted him from this rich diversity and forced him to become a strong supporter of the alternative scenes, where he looked to push people and projects that shared his values and vision. There and then he decided to embark on a different kind of journey and took upon himself the responsibility of discovering new music and to share it with the community. To this day techno and its many guises are his passion, especially the deeper and hypnotic realms, where ambience and atmosphere play the main role.

We're so glad to start 2022 with the mix from Owl on his birthdays (Happy Birthday buddy). His music is telling exactly where we are at the moment. It's meditative, tribal, psychedelic, funky, hypnotic, dark, bright and has lots of positivity for the future.

Welcome to the 169th chapter of the Deep Electronics Podcast. A weekly released podcast brings you a diversity of mixes from the deep music genre. This weeks set is mixed by Nicolò Faggiani

Bio:  

Merging his love for Techno and Dub-reggae, Nicolò Faggiani was always attracted by the possibility of mixing sound elements coming from these two genres, creating oneiric athmospheres that bring into an alternative sound dimension. The passion for electronic music and vinyls led him to found with some friends E.M.C. – Electronic Music Culture in 2015, a web radio project where they hosted artists such as Zzzzra, Federsen, Andrea Porcu, Narcotic 303, Marco Cassanelli, Audub and many others.

An harness of telluric currents that flow deep under a hypnotic pulse, creating a state of equilibrium between the club and a seductive and inescapable hypnosis.

Bmbmnd is a project born in 2015 from the mind of Andrea Domeniconi. Inspired by ambient and hypnotic techno, he developed his own style, with mixing dark ambient sound with some groovy bassline in order to create meaningful atmospheres that together form Andrea's unconscious.

Polygonia is a versatile art and music project based in Munich, Germany. The artist's preceding intensive practice playing several instruments and research of other art forms inspired her to  translate her understanding of rhythm, composition and experimentalism into the digital musical language creating a mystic and deep soundscape. The goal of her sets is to lead the listener through a colorful story, which includes a palette from bright moods with a lot of atmosphere and harmony into the polyrhythmic abyss of techno or dark ambient.
Polygonia is also a core member of the audiovisual deep techno and ambient label IO.
