Mysteries of the Deep x Common Multiverse Initiative | Capricorn Rising

Living in London is a truly colourful adventure - with downs deep low and ups real high - and if you look close enough there is magic happening all over the place. We are counting ourselves lucky to be able to work with makers that help create it, one of them being our dear friend and electronic musician @flaminia_elohk who contributed the latest mix to our Podcast Series ✨🌚✨

Flaminia is originally from Rome but has lived in London for quite a few years before taking off on a two-year long adventure travelling in South East Asia and Mexico, the places that drawn her with their mysticism and their approach to life and music-making. While she has originally established herself as a techno DJ and producer her path has gradually been curving towards more introspective flavours of electronic music - with ambient-leaning influences being present in her recent productions and, to a certain extent, in the mix she has kindly recorded for us. 

This chapter of our Podcast Series is a little different - moving in the direction of deeply-felt UK Bass with plenty of weighty lows, and vocal and melodic elements that take us through the seasons of emotions. With this deep and warm sound seeing it’s resurgence, Flaminia’s contribution to the series seems to come at the right time. This is a beautifully mixed journey that will make those slowly darkening evenings feel a little warmer so don’t be shy to let the music in 🌸

For the fourth installment of our ‚Identity formation‘ podcast series, we are happy to present Mind over MIDI (@mind-over-midi-1). Hailing from Kristiansund on the northwest coast of Norway, Helge Tømmervåg has been crafting electronic sounds since the early '80s. His earliest work recorded under the now-familiar Mind over MIDI moniker arrived in the early '90s. He's released scores of highly regarded and stylistically uncompromising sounds over the years, appearing on labels including Silent Seasons, Diametric, Hibernate, Whitelabrecs, ROHS! Lontano Series, Shimmering Moods Records, Slow Tones Collages and via his own Berserk Fabrik.

His music can be described as sounds for daydreamers and nighthinkers. Inspired by the icy winds, snowy vistas and frozen landscapes in Norway.

If you can picture the very furthest, coldest, darkest part of Norway, that's where Mind over MIDI resides. If you want to get an idea of what it's like there, and can do without the frostbite, then this is the perfect solution.

F-on (Alfonso Pomeda) is the owner of Alpenglühen (the label) focused in deep and ambient techno which explores the thin line between light and darkness.

His progressive sessions, profound and with long mixes, are real voyages that sail through experimental music, ambient and horizontal and dubby techno.

F-on's productions are 4x4 experiments of low tempo with field recordings and marked spaces, where he explores timbres, textures and cinematographic structures. He is a resident at the Alpenglühen and Taiga sessions and owner of the label Antimatter together with Bule.

"This mix contains several of my current favorite minimal and techno records and also several classic gems of the genre.

For personal reasons, it was recorded at night, with the volume low on the speakers, which complicated the process a bit. It's not my most technically perfect session, but, on the other hand, the situation forced me to make a kind of blend and speech without stridency and this has built a very interesting sleepy atmosphere.

It's the music I could play nowadays at an after hour club and the way I would play it."

A Dj/producer from Okinawa, Japan. Now based Berlin. Iori’s musical career started up in Naha, Okinawa in the late 90′s. He went to New York in 2003, and later on headed back to Japan after serving as a project coordinator for The Loft under David Mancuso. Taking Okinawa as center, Iori is famed in both Japan and stages around the world at the present. As deeply influenced by True Deep house, Manuel Gottsching, Moritz Von Oswald, and Basic Channel, Iori does not only present sets ranging from House to Techno but is also proficient in alternative deep sets. 
Characterised by the heavy and bouncy rhythms , grand atmospheric synth layers, He has already established his unique sound in the European techno / house circuit.

His past release have fancied by international DJs such as Cio D'or, Kirk Degiorgio , Nick Hoppner , Mike Parker , Sigha , Levon Vincent, and enthusiastically supported by many domestic underground Djs Like DJ NOBU…

Olorun's project aims to explore different moods of purity and sweetness in music. Through the investigation of texture and the attention on natural landscape, this music examine different aspect of communion with nature. Mostly the variety of tropical's fauna and flora is introduced to the project.

This mix slowly introduce you into a rite of exotic music. The contemplation aspect is brought by humans imprint just like a mantra. Every step of the mix are developing a complex atmosphere of natural elements.

"An invitation to Relax"

For our fourth podcast we welcome Adhémar. A very talented French artist whose work you'll have heard on Oslated and Aarden records.

Please read his note :) 

"This recording is an invitation to relax  and relieve any tensions. 
You can follow the instructions below. 
Stay in Shavasana for as long as you want - let go !
Lie flat on the back with the arms about 15 cm away from the body, palms facing upward.
A thin pillow or folded cloth may be placed behind the head to prevent discomfort. A rolled up blanket can be placed under the knees, heels still touching the ground, to relieve low back tension. 
Let the fingers curl up slightly.
Move the feet slightly apart to a comfortable position and close the eyes.
The head and spine should be in a straight line.
Make sure the head does not fall to one side or the other.
Relax the whole body and stop all physical movement. 
Become aware of the natural breath and allow it to become rhythmic and relaxed".
