About birds, cats and refugees...
A bird had dropped from the sky.. I don't like dead birds. I used to make small crosses of sticks for the bird-graveyard I had made in my backyard when I was a kid. 
The family cat often brought us "cat-gifts".. 
I love cats still because I saw their good intentions. I still as always feel strongly connected to the birds in the sky or on the ground.. 
I was raised to show mercy and understanding towards living creatures. Even if I found dead birds on my doorstep.
It breaks my heart to see immigrants, refugees and human life being refused help or neglected in refugee camps or lost at sea..
And i am gutted when i hear that people with means are being refused to help these souls. That governments stop these helping hands with legislation that criminalise helpers as participants of human trafficking! Helping hands who bring refugees water, food, clothes or offers fugitives a ride on inhumane long walks to reach an already crowded camp etc.
And I understand that power holders, my elders and the society that raised me, want only the best for themselves, me and the generations to come. But I want to say this: 
I understand and see the love from where your "cat-gifts" comes. But we are all human beings.. And:
I don't want your "cat-gifts".
I don't want to watch the people, society and system that raised me, turn its back on human compassion in fear and love. 
I want to tell my kids and grandkids a totally different story. A story of intellect and insights that lead to choices of a love bigger than me and my -country, -continental region, -part of Europe, -part of the world.
We have the choice of mercy and compassion towards our tribesmen, women and children of the world. 
That is why, what we choose is of most importance. 
Collective sympathy, empathy and compassion is a human force.
No more "cat-gifts"....
