The feverish first single from Emilee’s forthcoming EP, 
‘Howl’ is bone-rattling, throwback rock’n’roll.

Recorded live at The Aviary Recording Studio, it features Matt Dixon on baritone guitar, Ben Franz on double bass, and Joshua Barber on drums.
As well as a slew of special guest vocalists, (William Lee, Stan Woodhouse, Oskar Herbig & Ben Woolley) it lays comfortably on a bed of heaving male backing vocals.

‘Howl’ is now available digitally, and will be on 7” vinyl from October 30.

With powerful vocals and fierce guitar playing, Melbourne's Emilee South hollers rhythm & blues, with hints of voodoo, unrequited love, late-nights, and fevers. 

Emilee's forthcoming record 'MOTEL' is filled with throwback rock'n'roll & crooning soul.
The heaving, beaten up body of the record was tracked live to tape over two days at The Aviary Recording Studio.
Engineered by Fraser Montgomery, it features Matt Dixon on baritone guitar, Ben Franz on double bass, and Joshua Barber on drums.
Including a slew of special guest vocalists, (Broads, Al Parkinson, Skyscraper Stan & Ben Woolley) it lays comfortably on a bed of velvet backing vocals.


'MOTEL' is due for release on Thursday May 11.

Emilee South & Band will celebrate with a launch on Saturday the 13th of May, at The Gasometer Hotel in Collingwood, Melbourne.

Old Flame

Emilee South plays fervent and charging rock music. Combining the raw edge of punk with the driving force of rock, South shouts unapologetically over chaotic guitar riffs and driving rhythms to themes of capitalism, feminism, privilege, power and community. 

With influences ranging from Grinderman and IDLES to Sharon Van Etten, the band transition seamlessly from exciting hooks to unyielding power. Their debut album, recorded with acclaimed producer Anna Laverty, is due for release late 2023.
