So, this is what happens when you rap an infectious little hook over and over again for 8 hours until you have some semblance of a bouncy track. 

I've been working on this theme for months now, but it all came together today. Now I can move on, but not maybe before adding a little saxophone to the mix.

I originally recorded this track at 130 bpm and it sounded like frenetic hyperpop, which I kinda liked. I finally imported the final bounce from Logic Pro X and warped it so that the track length would end up being 4'20" 😉

Roud 11668 is a 20th-century African-American work song often credited to Huddie "Lead Belly" Ledbetter as the author, though the earliest recordings are not by him. Some sources say it is one of Lead Belly's many adaptations of earlier folk material.
There are numerous recorded versions, including a cappella and folk. The song was eventually, with modified lyrics, remade as a rock song by the American band Ram Jam in 1977. Subsequent recordings, including hits by Tom Jones and Spiderbait, retain the structure of this version.
