A club friendly version of one of my favorite tracks of one of my favorite musicians! Back in the days my father used to play this song a lot while driving the car and I have liked it since the first time I heard it. This song was recorded in 1984, one year before he released his biggest hit 'mario'. As founder of the band TPOK Jazz, which dominated Congolese music from 1956 until 1989, he is counted as one of the originators of the modern Congolese sound.

Emile Omar is known for his influential work as music-programmer at the legendary RADIO NOVA in Paris for 14 years.
Through this work he also is responsible of all Radio Nova compilations - 26 "Nova Tunes », 6 boxsets plus some thematic ones  (reggae, brazil, africa) -  that leads to more than 2000 compiled tracks) . 

In addition to his passion for radio, he is also one of the greatest collectors and discoverers of music from the French Antilles. With his party series "Tropical Discoteq", he has been instrumental in the renaissance of Zouk and Cadence over the past 7 years. Tropical Discoteq is known worldwide as "THE" party for music from the French Antilles.

Since 2011, he also run his label « Fanon Records »  with a versatile range of releases :

As a DJ, Emile has been touring with the growing Tropical Disctoteq touch in France (Montpellier, Sète, Saint Jean de Luz, Réunion Island), Europe (with the very first "tropical discoteq festival" in Greece last july) and New York. As a guest, he also played around the world in different cities such as Montréal, Athens, Budapest, Berlin, London, Lisbon, Port Au Prince, Kassell, Hambourg, Munich, Geneva.

Through his radio-dj-label activities , Emile Omar takes us on a journey through time and space: from Africa to Latin America to the Caribbean & Europe.
