doob & janoma @ 3000° Festival, Utopia 2017

In some ways winter is my favorite season, especially in Northern California, where I live.  The rains return, bringing brilliant shades of green back to the hillsides, the newts return to their creeks, the earth smells moist and alive, and that mixture of fog and low clouds clings to the hillsides wrapping us all up in her witchy embrace.  I love it!  This mix is my attempt to capture the feelings that winter stirs up in me, that combination of magic and mystery, beauty in the darkness, and inner peace.   I hope you enjoy the journey!

Ganz schön lange Wochenenden brauchen ganz schön schöne Montage. Ganz schön dann auch, dass das nun jetzt nach all der Karnevalei gerad dieser ist. Noch besser schön, auch sowieso, dass das ganz unverhofft ein kleiner Kolibré beschert, ganz langsam und ganz liebenswert, nicht nur gebützt, sondern richtig reingeküsst: @PurplePash. Eine kleine große Premiere, denn alles von ihm selbst und vieles auch ganz neu. Man sagen: Dankeschön!

Indeed, many great performances have been recorded, and we are glad to have them. But I think the greatest performances always elude, the camera, the tape recorder, the pen. They happen in the middle of the night when the musician plays for one special friend under the moonlight, they happen in the dress rehearsal just before the play opens. The fact that improvisation vanishes makes us appreciate that every moment of life is unique - a kiss, a sunset, a dance , a joke. None will ever recur in quite the same way. This very unique trio of music, souls and minds, is Eduardo Castillo's new LIVE project. Eager to expand and build on his musical reach and scope, Eduardo, has brought these very talented friends and multi instrumental musicians together to explore the potential of each of their own immense talents, only to realize, when playing and listening as an ensemble, a very powerful force came alive.
