Dear Hunter Theatre presents 'The Iconoclasts: Cast Album'

The Iconoclasts tells the story of an exuberant family facade that is just about ready to crack. Music, magic, poetry, drag and comedy meet in an explosive night of would-be redemption for the former celebs, but the cabaret-style comeback night just goes further and further off course. 

Following their haunting documentary, You Can’t Choose Your Family last year, the former celebrity family showcase their talents in an attempt to re-spark their careers and claw back their fame. Burned by bereavement, political anger and untold secrets, the much anticipated return of Mum, Patricia, Dad, John, and brothers, Alec & Danny is chequered with bright lights and bitterness. Despite the reconciliation rhetoric, we begin to see, through Danny's comedy and Patricia's pop songs, that by-gones are not quite by-gones for the controversial Catholics. Their 50-year history charts a journey of stardom to prisons, IRA meetings to British army regiments and most recently, life to death - their sister and daughter Estelle, recently passing after a lifelong battle with a degenerative disorder.

With cunning disguises, magnifying glasses and a briefcase full of breadcrumbs, Hansel and Gretel gather a team of folklore friends to solve these nursery rhyme crimes.
