BIO:

Making her debut in 1999, DJ Emily began her journey as a House DJ in the underground Chicago scene. Prior to DJing, Emily was brought up in a very musically influenced home and took up many musical instruments over the course of her youth- including piano, clarinet and guitar for some time. When she discovered her purpose as a DJ, it all came together. Emily started on a pair of belt driven turntables and a basic two-channel mixer. Over the decades as technology advanced, she progressed to Technics 1200s, then eventually to Time-Code Vinyl, CDJs, XDJs, and everything in between. Being a versatile DJ that can play on anything definitely sets her aside in the industry.

Emily got into the scene in the mid-90’s and immediately fell in love with the vibe and the music. She joined forces with the 219 Collective based out of Northwest Indiana in 2000 as a DJ. The 219 crew had a good run, throwing many underground parties and events all over the Northwest Indiana and Chicagoland area for many years. Going solo for a while, she spent a lot of time in the studio practicing, recording mixes, and getting exposure playing various events. In 2017, DJ Emily’s persistence paid off, landing her a long-standing residency for the 24/7 internet radio station- Dance Club Music Radio Live, or www.dcmrlive.com. Her current residency at the station airs in over 52 countries worldwide and typically exceeds 95-100,000 listeners regularly per show! Then, in 2018, two paths crossed. DJ Emily and Douglas Johnson, AKA DJ Anotomus, became partners, throwing events and DJing together for several years under the company- DJanotomus.COM. Currently, Emily is a Resident DJ at the Waterford Inn in LaPorte, IN for a weekly event held on Saturdays. She has one other additional affiliation with a close-knit crew of House DJs called "The House Music Hammer of the Gods," in which she plays events around the Chicago area and suburbs. 

There's only one other thing this girl loves more than dropping those bangin’ tracks- it’s to get everyone in the audience moving and grooving to her high-energy vibe. Inspired mainly by tech-house with thick mids and heavy bass, she has a very particular collection, and a fine-tuned ear for the cuts. With over two decades of experience, DJ Emily is consistently on point with her technical skills, with a natural and musical ear for the flow of the mix. Her performances are going stronger than ever before, curating and delivering the finest selection of beats and bass to the dance floor. DJ Emily’s smooth blending technique and dynamic flow of energy is sure to get you up and on your feet at the drop of the bass.
