Musical features:
1. The harmony is simple.  Only 4 chords are used in the song: I, vi, ii, and V.
2. The form combines the AABA form with a ballad, verse-only, form.  The A sections are verses with changing lyrics, while the B section is a short piano interlude.
3. The vocal melody fits covers an octave range that should be moderately easy for most people to sing.

Pretty_Demo

My favorite movie compares the beautiful moments in our lives to pearls. Sometimes we have to travel down a lot of string to get to those pearls, but once we reach them, they are so worth it. The memories I’ve made on 12th Avenue have been pearls.
I wrote this song for a class assignment my sophomore year and recorded this demo in a practice room. It was inspired by a first date, but I also wrote this song as a love ballad to 12th Avenue and what it represents; I wrote this song thinking about how everything that happens in our lives, from lessons we’ve learned to places we’ve seen, keep leading us to new places and faces until we are where we’re meant to be. I hope that my love for Nashville shines through while listening to this song, and I hope you get to experience what it feels like to be in love with this place even if you’ve never been.
