When Our Worlds Collide

Brusco - A brisk, uneasy and tense score, which leads suddenly into the next movement.

Melancholio - More emotionally based, written during a difficult time for my family and I. This depicts the more emotional or romantic side to Tango music.

Fuero - The final movement, which brings a large-scale majestic conclusion to the three. Based upon the rhythm of Piazolla's ever popular 'Libertango'.

A Moment in Time

Emily Jackson is an award-winning composer for orchestra, film and television. She has had her works performed at venues both in and around London, such as Fairfield Halls, Croydon, Hever Castle in Kent and G Live in Guildford. In early 2014, Emily was awarded the CSO Young Composer of the Year award for her concerto 'Tango Fantasia' for solo piano and orchestra.

As both a pianist and violinist, she enjoys writing works for both piano and orchestra, solo piano and endless other instrumental arrangements.
Emily is currently studying for her Masters in Composing for FIlm and TV in London, whilst also working on her commissions for films and video games. She is also currently working on a feature film score, which will be released next year.

In her spare time, Emily teaches singing and music to young students in South London and performs as a session pianist.
