Carnegie library
You stood so tall 
In the pictures I saw
Taken in February 

On thirteen granite stairs
I saw you there
Blowing smoke in the air
In pleasant company

Simple uncertainty
Time has brought more
Since 1904 
Such is commentary 

The corner bakery
White tile floors
Opening French doors
View of the library 

And on the bench, I can see you there
Im on the fence again

In this square called Carnegie
We're just wandering ghosts
A library filled with architects 
And a peaceful overlook 

Please walk not too swiftly
Shaded and forlorn
Concrete riddled and worn
Speak just kind and gently

I can’t write about Logan, not yet. Only
when I am gone, and in thought will 
I know what it meant. For then last
year I lived down the street, I used 
to rest on porch swings feet. Drinking 
my own soul to rest, I never asked if 
they could tell. Beneath the trees where
the red car lies, he kissed me once, but
I was glass. Kool Aid porch, and loving 
fast. I took no time to ever ask.The rafters 
of what happened here, will stay until I 
disappear. The view is different down the 
street, still where the same houses meet. 
Lost in time, and selfishness. I saw it all, 
in consciousness.
