What a great listening experience! Beautiful!

A celebratory overture dedicated to the retirement of Mr. Kerry Hewett, who served magnificently as a Music Teacher in Adelaide, South Australia for 41 years. He served as a brass and wind specialist in the South Australian education system and I am sure that his fine contribution as a freelance French horn and brass player will continue for many years.

Program notes: Fanfare for eight horns was commissioned by Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University for their 2020 season launch. I was very fortunate to have carried out numerous fantastic projects with QCGU. Their support for new music—as well as the professionalism and brilliance of their students and staff—earned this institution a very special place in my heart. I have collaborated closely with their horn studio since 2012, which has been a great source of inspiration. In this short celebratory piece, I wanted to encapsulate the feelings of pride, excitement, musical nobility and gratitude that I associate with QCGU, as well as the excitement of new beginnings.
The piece does not require a conductor.

Usually advanced studies for French Horn tend to be too difficult. This is the 3rd of 3 etude books for Horn on modes scales not very usual in horn studies, as well as some extended techniques and special effects. All this in easy to play studies where difficulties are not mixed, (if the study is dificult or even very difficult in some aspects, it will be simple on others) and above and of all its always present a great rhythmic component and a lot of fun.
