THE GOAL
BASSart has devoted itself to promoting urban art in the sectors of electronic music, audiovisual art and performance. BASSart picks up the creative potential found on the streets and in the so called underground and makes it go off! Loud. Punchy. Varied. 
The coincidence of various art movements and styles, crossing the borders between genres, leads to interactive inspiration and new diversity. Creative forces get in motion to form space-time-human-inspired BASSart. 
Feedback in the form of dancing and good moods received by BASSart shall serve to prove its positive effects on people and their surroundings. 
 
THE WAY
In the tradition of youth movements that significantly influenced past decades; skateboarding, graffiti, break dance, DJ culture and street art, BASSart is all about skills. 
What’s our thing? What are we best at? Going beyond the city limits. 
Acting as a solidifying platform, BASSart aims to compare the regional BASSartists’ quality level to the international scene. Renowned scene players as well as music industry professionals and musicologists will be appointed members of the expert panel that grants the BASSmaster Award to the best competing BASSartists. The BASSmaster Award serves as a genuine alternative to pop-scene prizes – it’s a quasi “street award”.

music. Performing live as a trio, the female MC and the two electronic drum-players were voted one of
the top-discoveries at 2012s SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas by
Flavorwire and put their show on stage in US, UK and continental Europe,
playing along Gorillaz, Das Racist, Crystal Fighters and many more.

"The Machine", originally composed for a German independent movie, is a
driving anthem with a deceptively simple & orchestral instrumentation
that opens up for a hard hitting, slightly more electronic chorus. The
thought provoking lyrics fit in well with the music and make room to
show the quality of Emma's singing voice.
This song is the soundtrack to a highly technological world that does suggest we got the freedom to choose from a million options, while really we don't.

Cadik from Hungary brought beats to Budapest.
His abstract HipHop productions are deep, have a lot of bass and there
is always a cinematic touch to it. A very unique mixture which we like a
lot and which got him international features by the likes of Medaphoar &

James and Bryan from Austin, Tx have a very interesting and new approach
to Hip Hop music. Bames recently got signed to Fools Gold Rec.
releasing their latest electronic-psych-hop madness, “DRTY BWTY".

When artists, crews, and musicians, who, throughout many years created something dubbed “Sub-Culture“ or “Underground“ (although they would never call it that themselves), appear together collectively, it can only prove to be an extraordinary experience. At the BASSart Festival 2013 there were almost 400 BASSartists and over 5,000 visitors. We’re there! DJs, MCs, musicians, performance artists, and street artists – autodidact and professionals. Not a “Sub-culture”, but rather an “Urban Up-culture.” We rouse the overall atmosphere, celebrate the collaboration, and promote the gathering through music, art, and diverse lifestyles. In the tradition of movements which have significantly influenced the last decades, such as skateboarding, graffiti, breakdancing, hip hop, techno, dnb, DJing, VJing and MCing, BASSart is concerned with “skills”.  What are we capable of? What do we do best? Over the city limits and beyond. This appraisal is what BASSart should offer, to promote mutual inspiration for a rich variety of results.
