Written and recorded over 2 days in South East London, ‘Carried’ is a collaborative EP from violinist Fiona Brice, cellist Tony Woollard and composer/producer Jim Perkins. The project began as an antidote to the sometimes laborious academic tradition of composing, scoring, revising, rehearsing, recording, editing and producing music. 

Each piece was created without score or prior preparation, relying on instinct, discussion and collaboration, with a focus on capturing the energy and essence of an idea whilst it is still fresh. 

The result is a suite of 5 emotive, meditative and distinctive pieces combining drones, elements of minimalism and chamber music with textured harmonics and the occasional melodic line. ‘Carried’ honours the spontaneity and spark of a new idea and nurtures it, creating a deeply engaging and cinematic sound.

Emmanuel Jacob is a composer and producer with active presence in professional music libraries for media since 2014. Having a dilemma as a child/teenager to become either an astrophysicist or a musician, he understood that both are based on math - but, the fact that music is the artistic dialect of the mathematic language, the path of music composing was full of promises.
