The band Dead Moon has always been dear to my heart and this version is a tribute to their fearless leader Fred Cole. I learned of Fred’s passing while on tour with The Church and recorded the song in my hotel room with an acoustic guitar, a slide and an ebow. I have kept the song for myself and out of respect for the band and their devout fans  did not want to release it without his wife’s approval. 
I was in shock when I received the kindest email from Toody Cole letting me know that she loved hearing Fred’s words again and that I had her complete blessing. Xo Iris Doe

The last Gun Club studio LP recorded before the untimely death of Jeffrey Lee Pierce in 1996.  If you ask me the quality of this one stands right up there next to their 1984 classic "The Las Vegas Story," and his 1985 solo LP, "Wildweed."   Unlike some artists whose creativity declines later in their career, JLP just kept getting better at his songwriting craft.
