In case you are unaware, Slacky is a DJ and curator based in West Yorkshire who runs the Space Ritual label. In addition to this, he is a co-director of the wonderful Narr Radio. 

Being heavily influenced by acid house, techno, krautrock and psychedelic music, his mixes often create an intergalactic voyage for the dance-floor and today's mix is no different, featuring the likes of CPI, Zu Mu Party Crew, Coil, Jenson Intercepter, I-F, and much much more.

The boundary between the familiar and the unwilted often feels like a whisper—a thin, almost imperceptible shawl that you only truly feel once it has already enveloped you, like an anaconda writhing in the silence. In my case, it happened on an autumn evening, when the world seemed to begin its quiet transition into the kingdom of winter, bowing to the inevitable cycle of death and rebirth.

It all began with a dream—one of those elusive dreams that slips through your fingers like sand as soon as you try to grasp it. In this dream, I stood on the edge of a vast crater, its borders hidden far beyond the horizon, and inside, the entire space was filled with a thick fog that seemed to breathe and shift like the clouds of a restless mind.

The jungle behind me was alive—evergreen trees stood like columns of forgotten temples, their roots intertwined in a dance with ancient civilizations buried in the lands of eternity. The air was full of legends, and the constellations above were unfamiliar, as if I had stumbled upon an unknown corner of the universe. Shadows moved along the periphery, and I knew them—vague, ancestral outlines, bearing the weight of southern archetypes, echoes of ancient wisdom that always lingered on the edge of my consciousness. These shadows were not just figures of the past; they were keepers of secrets, architects of both my sky and earth.

It was a magical place—a crossroads where space, time, and myth synchronized, and the veil of maya lost its dominion. And I, standing on the edge of the unknown, listening to the music of thundering space, caught in waves of illumination, felt the call of my ancestors and distant galaxies.

In the age of over-information and over-exposure what control do we have over our public persona? It's all about the personality, all about our profile, incessant, endless posts to every medium we can lay our hands on.

After 25 years of DJing around the world,  the catchily title |-...-.|  seems like they've had enough of all that and switched to the exact opposite and put together a project with no real name, no real public persona or much else besides. But it's been getting noticed by the right people - Joe Muggs featured them twice in Bandcamp Daily this year, and their latest album "Deliveroo Studio Séances" is the piece that really caught our ear.

"This is all about music being judged on its merit rather than ego or identity, transcending the audiences potential preconceptions and focusing on a sonic and visual journey. "

The sound pulls from various places - you can hear bits of Aphex Twin, Burial, Daft Punk, and Weatherall in there. It's genre-fluid stuff that doesn't fit neatly into boxes, which is probably why the likes of Trevor Jackson and Prosumer have been supportive.

The whole anonymous angle means the music has to speak for itself, which it seems to be doing. So it feels kind of counterintuitive to ask them any questions for this rather tasty mix they've put together of original material, intermingled with other beauties. But we'll do it anyway, hey.

The label is delighted to welcome Kris Baha with his first 12" for Especial. After killer remixes of Sfire and Red Axes for the label, his name as an artist, with his darker take on dance music, has risen and risen.

With releases on Bahnsteig 23, CockTail d'Amore and Pinkman, Baha has become a respected artist in just a few years. Building analogue equipped studios in Melbourne and Berlin, DJing, producing and mixing have all led to atonal ear, where success came through dedication.

Following his debut album Palais, Barely Alive acts as release from these years of sweat. A call to all in this modern world, the song exemplifies a move from club music to a freedom in sound and song, as vox crash against 808 and Arp 2600. Remixes start with Timothy J Fairplay a name synonymous with Especial. Here TJF laces his trademark echoplexxed wash for a cold wave mover. Next prodigy Job Sifre builds on his acclaimed debuts with a remodel that goes straight to 'that' basement, mixing his love of electro, new wave and industrial. To close, the legend of Das Ding creates a re-alternate remix, fusing his unique fuzz with Baha's ode for a brittle finale.
