Gabriel Delgado-López, 1958 in Córdoba (Spanien) geboren, kam in den Sechziger Jahren nach Deutschland. Mit dem Schlagzeuger Robert Görl machte er seit 1978 Musik als DAF (Deutsch Amerikanische Freundschaft).

Mit expressiver Stakkatosprache, schroffen Beats, Freude an Provokation und Lust an erotischer S/M-Ästhetik prägten sie die Musik der Achtziger. Ihre Songs bauten auf Elementen des New Wave, Industrial und EBM auf, prägten diese Genre gar.

Delgado, der seit einigen Jahren wieder in Spanien lebte, ist jetzt im Alter von 61 Jahren unerwartet gestorben. Das haben Robert Görl und sein Management am Montag, 23. März 2020, auf Facebook bekannt gegeben. Immer in Erinnerung bleiben werden - besonders - die Alben "Alles ist gut" (1981), "Gold und Liebe" (1982), Hits wie "Tanz den Mussolini", "Verschwende deine Jugend" oder "Ich und die Wirklichkeit".
