Hey there! This my new song "I Want To Be More". I hope you like it! I completed (wrote, recorded, and edited) this one also in about the span or 2 or 3 days. Unfortunately, here I am completing completely new tracks while likely over twenty songs in need of only vocals remain on my harddrive in wait! Don't even get me started on "Needs lyrics written" "Unrecorded that I'm putting off" and "Unrecorded except for paper and/or voice recorder"! I really do think I'll get it all done eventually. Lord willing.

I actually have enough completely recorded, though admittedly not mastered, to release 2 albums right now, but I'd rather wait until I get more finished. I'm going to release them all as one giant super album, because I have a free album credit on CDBaby, and although I have many albums in spirit, the superior budget thriftiness commendation medal goes to the one who has no job and lives with his parents. 

About the song:

The song is about a guy who struggles with drugs, drinking, and just living life with that empty feeling. The song is chiefly a description of his life, and what it felt like. It felt like some ironic trainwreck that looks so good on the outside, and feels good sometimes, but actually feels so completely empty. At first he's convinced that all he's got is himself, possibly his family. That those things are his meaning. 

The whole song goes as he stumbles around searching for meaning in anything, and tries to amuse himself with some sense of ironic beauty in his tragic life that seems so good from the outside. 

At the end he finally figures out and/or admits his true meaning is God and that nothing has meaning without Him. He finally comes around to God and repents of all the craziness of his past life. He decides he wants to be more than what he has been. He starts saying the things that are true.

It's a story of stumbling around in darkness, and finding meaning in life.

I Want To Be More (What I've Been)

Howdy, ya'll! Have you been walking in the moonlight? Even dancing ON it? If so, this song is for you. And if not, well, give it a chance anyway. Just don't be surprised when the distortion guitar comes in. Really, what did you expect from... EMOTIONAL RELATION? 

Just kidding, we have a versatile catalog, albeit with a focus on our style of choice :D

I hope you like the song. It took me 22 to 26 hours to complete.

About the song: 

The song was designed so that one could sing it to God or their spouse or loved one. So, for me, it was kind of like singing to both at the same time, however, since I don't really have a "loved one" at the moment, my mind goes more to God, and I had to make a conscience effort not to make the song go where I wanted it to go lyrically.

There are a lot of things to be said about marriage loyalty and this song is kind of like a guy saying "Hey, I'll keep trying my best, but I'm gonna mess up and need forgiveness. I'll keep chasing you, but I'm gonna need your help. Marriage isn't all roses and you have to fight to stay together, in a way."

And it kind of likens it to the way we sin and God forgives us and takes us back. We are in a sort of covenant with God when we became Christian. And every time we break it, realize we messed up, and come back to Him, he doesn't go "I deserve so much better than you" even though He does. He doesn't go "You know, I would want better for myself than to keep hurting myself by staying in this relationship that is less than the best with you." We want God to forgive us like the guy in the Bible who married an unfaithful wife to show how Israel had treated God and God had taken then back again and again. But then we want to justify why we don't have to forgive the same way ourselves, why we don't have to keep fighting for our marriage.  

There are a lot of things to be said, and God doesn't hate anyone. But God does hate divorce. So we have gotta try to do everything we can not to do it. 

Anyway, that's a dash of insight into some of the deep topics related to this song, on the more romantic side of things. 

The other side of things is someone singing to God. The song talks the fact that God always takes us back when we repent and says that it "never gets old" and that it's like "walking on moonlight". It's saying that there's no better feeling than "being with you". The song says "and i've never felt this way", which isn't so much an actual statement of "never having felt this way", but a somewhat speechless and blissful statement of something being so wonderful, that it is as if you have never felt it before. In other words, the feeling of being with God or "in His righteous forgiveness" is so wonderful compared to being separated, and every time we feel it, even though we have obviously felt it before (hopefully), it's like it is so wonderful it is hard to imagine ever having really felt something so good before. 

The chorus is from this viewpoint of the person who is now back in God's love having received forgiveness.

In essence, the song is a love song, to God and to women and loved ones everywhere, but it also hopefully presents something of an example of what a functioning long term relationship needs to be able to survive (forgiveness, dedication, longevity, and a whole lotta love from God and you).

P.S. I totally unintentionally and unironically wrote the chorus of the song in 9/8. I went a bit crazy with adding extra beats later in the writinf process, but the original chorus simply worked out that way. Go figure. Darn those prog artists!

Hello everyone. I am running out of song room, so some older ones may have to be removed or the like in order for me to continue uploading! 

This is my new song "Don't Hide", a worship-rock style song designed to be in a style that a church might do it. I hope you all enjoy it, it is partially from the perspective of God talking to us as He seeks us when we are away from Him.  He searches for us, welcomes us, tells us "it's alright", and begs us not to hide from Him. Darkness grows in darkness but shrinks and dies when brought to light. Darkness eventually ends in death, and not dying physically, but spiritually. So let's not hide from God in our darkness but go to Him in our hour of need where we will be made clean.

Hello! This is my version of Jon Egan's song I Am Free. Believe it or not, this version is more similar to the way MY church used to do it than the actual recording! I know, funny, right? My old worship leader was a rocker. 

I've added a few of my own unique elements, such as tempo changes (for some reason I am a variable tempo FIEND), an interesting riffified verse section, and heck, a few turned way back octave leads just for good measure. 

I love singing this song and it always gets me joyful. I love singing it for others and watching them be joyful and run around for it, too. The freedom the Lord gives us is so great. We are free to love, free to give, free from our bondage to sin, and free to live for Him. Sometimes we might think that if God just "loosened up" or even if we "just didn't have to obey God" then life would be so much better... But would it? A world without God is a world without hope. And God sets the standard for right and wrong by His word alone. When we aren't obeying God, it might feel good for a while, but we can only pray that the hopeless despair will sink in while you still have a chance to repent, because it certainly won't feel good forever. And another thing... Our hearts lose the joy of the Lord when we aren't obeying Him.

I wrote this song after messing up with pornography. It had happened right before I was scheduled to sing worship songs for a special event. 

The truth is, all my praise and all my promises and words are worth nothing to God. God couldn't care less about any of it, because it's all worthless. I can say I love You God a million billion times and it doesn't mean a thing no matter how much I mean it, if I never obey. I am not worthy. I can't describe to you how hurt God is and how disgusted He is when we say how much we love and praise Him & then go and do the same sins over.

But thank God for Jesus. Because with Him, I am made righteous. And so I can be made clean again. My praise can be, something. So I can try again. So I can say I love You, God, and even though I still struggle, I can be God's and I have hope. And I guess, somehow or another, Jesus makes all my words worth something to God, and He lets me keep trying to truly mean what I say. "If you love Me you will follow My commands". 

And even though I truly am nothing, nothing but a failure to God, a tainted glass of water turned black, no longer good to drink, Jesus makes something. 

So you keep on trying, you keep on living for God, trying to make a difference for others to believe and be saved, and you keep on trying to follow through when you say you love God, and trusting Jesus will purify you where you have failed. And maybe, when it's all said and done, it'll be okay.

In one way we became useless, dirtied ourselves and made ourselves no good to God. God could no longer be with us because we were unclean, and we were good for nothing.

The song characterizes the world as God's hourglass ⌛, a ticking time bomb that we're all stuck in, if you will. The world's end date is coming closer and closer, and we can't stop it. Hey y'all! This is a new upcoming track that I made, in an attempt, albeit somewhat shortlived, to imitate A Skylit Drive. Great band.

The song is basically about writing songs about your life, writing the things you wish you would do, but how it really means nothing and makes nothing better if you don't ever follow through. At least, vaguely. The song has some interesting atmosphere parts that do have a concept, and that's why the track had ended up being 7 minutes long! Band bio: Here at Emotional Relation we think a lot of people just need a little love and "ER". Too many people have already "grown" past something, and then drag everyone down who hasn't. Let's love and relate to everybody, then work on growth... growth to a equally healthy place of maturing and of love and relation to everyone, even if we're "totally over this or that scenario", or whatever it might be. Don't just tell someone to "get over it". Relate. Love. Work through it. Everybody's a little better off when they had somebody who was there for them. 

Band motto: If people emotionally relate to you, then they might come to you for an answer. And if people are coming to you for an answer, have a good one.

Artist bio: Stephen is a Christian, self-produced, self-taught multi-genre musician from Texas. I specialize in Punk Rock/Metal, but enjoy and respect all types of music, and often dabble into other genres. I play Guitar, Bass, Keyboard/Piano, and sing. Many, many bands continually inspire me.
